When I Started:
Mar, 2009
How I Started:
I've been active/athletic all my life. I was involved in a lot of sports growing up and it just became a part of my life. I still play competitve softball a couple of times a month but decided that's not enough to keep my (nearly 30-year-old) body in shape the way I want it. So, here I am :).
Why I Love It:
I like to feel good about myself and working out has that effect on me. It's also a great stress-reliever.
How I Stay Motivated:
I love it when my husband tells me I look great (I really don't care what anyone else thinks - but I love that he thinks I'm "hot"). Plus, we have a 2-year-old son and I want him to grow up in a "fit" home -- I want to stay in shape to be able to do more things with him as he grows up.
Day 1 -- Chest/Back & Abs
Day 2 -- Plyometrics
Day 3 -- Shoulders/Biceps/Triceps & Abs
Day 4 -- Plyo or Cardio or Kickboxing or Yoga (my choice)
Day 5 -- Legs/Back & Abs
Days 6 and 7 -- one active rest day (playing softball, running, walking, dancing, etc.) and...
Ok now that you are loving it, don't get too crazy! Sprint training is a similar workout too lifting weights, so you can quickly over train. I would keep them to twice a week. Right now you are kicking butt, but after a few days your legs will be fried and perpetually sore. I don’t recommend a vest as it moves the center of balance higher, and could lead to injury. If you want to make it harder boost your speed. Not only will that build your legs, but faster runs really work those abs.
Thinks are going great, had some great progress over the last month so I'm really happy. Time to get down to the nitty gritty though. Hope all is good on your end!
Yep, I'm from Indiana lol. When is your Nationals? I'd like to come and watch it :)! I think that would be cool! Columbus has awesome ball fields! The best in the state hands down. Lets put it this way, if a team wanted to practice on them, they have to have a permit from the city to do it. 4th isn't too bad. Good job :)! Glad to hear that you are feeling great and seeing the results :). Do you get to swing any bat you want? What bat do you swing?
must be the dance party giving you crazy energy! :P that's totally cool that your gonna do some kick boxing... would love to see that! lol oh, and thanks for the pic comment... that WAS a profile pic, but now I'm scared to change it again!!!
Just finished through. I love when my legs shake just from stretching! :D
Kenpo is definitely fun, for me its very nostalgic because I have my black belt in Martial arts, though I have been out of it for a few years now
