Have you ever had a lifting injury?
Yes
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
Currently I have an issue with the left side of my neck. Don't really know what its from doesn't really effect my lifting just yet..
- Updated Apr 16, 2009 11:43am

What is the most common reason that somebody gets injured while lifting?
Maybe not enough rest.. Or bad form.
- Updated Apr 16, 2009 11:43am

What is the most dangerous weightlifting exercise? Why?
To me.. Probably Military press. Most of the time when i do this I have no spotter and its my favorite exercise so i push myself a lot on it.

You need to intake protein around every 3 hours, so alot of people will actually drink some protein if they happen to wake up in the middle of the night. Cause your body won't get any protein for 8 hours otherwise. You don't have to be that extreme, but you will get good results that way.

Whey Isolate in the morning and directly after a workout because those are the times when you need to get that protein in your body and to your muscles as fast as possible, and Syntha6 with every shake during the day of before bed or even in the middle of the night. If it's in the middle of the night, drink it with water, as you don't want too many calories while you're sleeping. You only want the protein.

Many brands sell it. Isolate is the fastest most bio available protein out there. It's a little more expensive then the normal way, although Syntha6 is pretty expensive too, but if you have the money, the best combo would be using both.

Nah, ask away!! Syntha 6 is awesome protein for throughout the day cause it's a blend of fast absorbing protein and slow absorbing protein. It'll supply your body with protein for hours. On the other hand, the best protein powder for directly after a workout is Whey Isolate.

Milk is awesome. I'm cutting right now and I drink 3 protein shakes a day. Each shake has 3 cups of fat free milk and 1 scoop of protein. That's 30g of protein from the milk and 25g from the powder. Each shake = 55g of protein X 3 a day = 165g of protein. Then I eat 1lb of chicken breast a day and 1lb of lean beef everyday. I would highly suggest adding milk to your shakes, but only fat free milk.

Google "low glycemic carbs." Some good ones are beans, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, brown rice, anything whole grain or whole wheat. When your on a bulk cycle, you needs lots of good carbs. When your on a cutting cycle, then lower the carb intake. And hell yeah, milk is good!! Milk carbs are low glycemic so that means they are good. And every cup has around 10g of protein.

And your body will also breakdown muscle to get the protein it needs. It'll break down muscle protein and convert it into a carb for fuel. That's really expensive fuel you don't wanna use.

So you need to eat enough carbs so your body will use them as fuel and use the protein to build instead of using protein for fuel. If you've been losing weight, your def not eating enough. That means your in a caloric deficit and your body isn't getting enough calories to support all those daily bodily functions and exercise. Your body using up fat and protein for fuel cause it don't have enough carbs.

Yeah, don't be afraid of carbs. Try your best to find the lowest on the glycemic index as possible. If you can't, rice will still work, even if it's white. Your body uses up carbs to fuel all your normal daily bodily functions. If your not eating enough to support all those functions everyday, then your body will start converting those proteins into carbs and start using protein as fuel instead of using it to build up new muscle.

And most people recommend hitting each body part only once a week. More rest. You do all that and you're guaranteed new muscle. =]

With your weight and height, I'd suggest eating around 350g of carbs, 350g of protein, and 75g of fat everyday. It's alot, I know, but that's what your body needs to build that muscle. It needs the raw materials. Just make them all clean calories and hit the weights really hard and you'll gain only a minimal amount of fat. All those calories will go to new muscle. That's how I did it during my last bulk cycle. I put on 17lbs and only gained about 3/4 inch on my waist.

When I've come across people that can't make any muscular gains, it's always been their diet that hurting them. I'm sure your already hitting the weights really hard so that's probably not the problem. Just eat tons of protein and an equal amount of carbs. All good carbs of course. Oatmeal, sweet potatoes, fruits, vegetables, low fat yogurt. Stuff with a low glycemic index.
