When I Started:
Sep, 2004
How I Started:
I lifted weights in high school to prepare myself for football. After high school I wanted to loose fat, and gain strength. When I went to culinary school my roommate and I started lifting together at the community gym for free. The real program started then.
I've tried a lot of different methods and training techniques. All have helped me extend my knowledge of weight lifting.
Why I Love It:
There is no greater high then setting that goal of bench pressing 315 lbs, and one day just breaking through and putting that weight up. It keeps you healthy, and it just feels good doing it. It also helps create some good friendships in the gym
How I Stay Motivated:
I set small goals, and try to increase a portion of my routine every week with every exercise; either more weight, or more reps. There really isn't any sense in just maintaining, the same stuff week to week. Plus, the harder you push yourself, the greater the results in your physique.
Start of school! Last semester, one more month of cutting, then getting ready for winter... packing on some size
Goal (Long):
I have always wanted a good "beach look" and I would like to get there by next spring break. Which is a little less than a year away. I have always been pretty strong, but I'm starting to realize that I might have potential in bodybuilding. It has always fascinated me the way the athletes present themselves on stage and the physiques are amazing. If everything keeps going as good as it is, and I find someone who really knows the sport and could show me the ropes... I could see myself pursuing bodybuilding in the future. For now I would like to lose my gut, tone up, and increase my strength and endurance.
Haven't posted a lot yet about the contest... i've been going at it HARDCORE! It seems pretty extreme a lot of the time, but I know in my head that its the only way to get it done. Since the semester started, in mid January, I have been at school for about a month now, and I have yet...
Routine #5 Hardcore Physique
4 Weeks
How do you put together a weight training arsenal? I’ll tell you how, but you gotta do all the heavy lifting… This is a 5-day routine: 3 days on, 1 off, 2 days on, 1 off. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat....
Dude -- great size on your legs! Actually, great size overall -- you've made awesome progress. Good luck with the $50,000 contest! Keep up the hard work!
There is no way I am entering any contests unless, like you said, the reward is lazer hair removal lol. I do need to keep up with the blog though and thanks for the advice as I am still trying to figure out how to work everything on this site.
JD, thanks for adding me. I need the inspiration.
I see that your goals are...
"For now I would like to lose my gut, tone up, and increase my strength and endurance."
That is just what I am looking to do also !!! (and lose 30lbs)
Looks like I will be doing the body shave also.
