When I Started:
Nov, 2005
How I Started:
I started working out at 24hr Fitness after I couldn't fit on a ride at Knott's Berry Farm. I was humiliated. I promised myself I would never experience that again.
Why I Love It:
I have always loved lifting weights since highschool but lost touch with it. Its healthy, fun, and addictive.I love pushing myself. It has opened my mind to new ways of thinking. Its shows me what Im capable of and helps push me foward.
How I Stay Motivated:
There are a lot of factors but my heart is what really motivates me and this is literal. I was diagnosed and live with cardio-myopathy/Congestive heart failure. Its weird because I had lost 65lbs. prior and thought I was getting healthier. It hit me and hit me hard. But Im very positive. God is with me. My doctor said Ishould do a minimum 3 miles of cardio a day. Now that I started this new gym on average I do nine miles. Its weird because honestly I dont know what my limit is. My doctor said to do as much as I can tolerate. I feel better than I did before. Girls are very motivating though too.
Hehe, I can understand the male ego being wounded when they see females in the gym training harder and getting better results than they, LOL. As for the mindset thing, a healthy mind and confidence is definitely a great thing for anybody :)
