In 2005, I was diagnosed with the Big C (Stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma). Prior to getting cancer, I was in the gym 5 or 6 days a week. But chemo sapped my energy - and once I went into remission, I got really comfortable (read: lazy) with not working out and eating crap food.
Now my goal is get back to basics: I want my pre-cancer body/work out habits back.
Why I Love It:
I'm shallow: I want to look good. But it's also a stress difuser for me. Plus, working out also lets me compete against my own will power.
How I Stay Motivated:
1. remind myself daily that i don't want to look like **** anymore
2. reading every articles i can in the mags (especially M&F).
3. reading other bodyspace profiles/pix
4. sticking magazine tearsheets of what I *should* look like in key places in the house.
5. connecting with folks via the forums as (mutual) online workout partners.

What Invictus_Nth Is Up To:

Invictus_Nth is inspired by stevep78. Reason: "The pix don't lie - the story of his transformation is def one of the reasons. Steve is willing to take time out of his schedule to help so... " - 8:54 am - Comment
This was me in 2004 - just a few months before my lymphoma diagnosis. I was working out 5-6 days a week. The pic gives the impression I had a slilght stomach, but it was much flatter than that. Honest.
This is me this year (and post cancer). Chemo killed any motivation - and sparked bad eating habits. Once I hit remission, I was eating poorly and not exercising all the time.
like a terminator...i want to rebuild myself after being broken. my long term goal is to lose body fat and gain muscle mass.
Goal (Long):
I've been working out since I was 18. Prior to getting cancer, I was in the best shape of my life. Chemo and my own laziness flushed that down the toilet. Now, I'm looking to get it all back.
My goal is lower my body fat and increase my muscle mass. Ideally, I'd like to be around the 180 to 190 lbs range with 10% bodyfat.
I'm currently doing cardio 4 to 5 days a week for 25 minutes. I've also just introduced split set weight training into my workouts.
My secondary goal is to meet cool peeps online to keep my ass motivated and to do the same for them.
The pix don't lie - the story of his transformation is def one of the reasons. Steve is willing to take time out of his schedule to help someone improve their workout and reach their goals. He's not someone who's on here to pimp his picture or troll for compliments - he clearly wants to help people get to the level he's at.
401lb weight loss - Chris and David on ABC's 20/20
Played: 53
Why I like this video: This is a really great video of a dude who *seriosuly* kept his nose to the grindstone to lose weight & get in shape. He lost 401 lbs in just over 2 years and is now studying to be a personal trainer. Totally inspiring.
I've decided that until I get my workout plan from Steve, I'm going to return to my original cardio outline in the interim. It doesn't make sense for me to continue if my weight training is going to change by the end of this week. Plus, I was incredibly focused when I was just doing cardio...
nice. yep im at a corporation too. only 15 people, so im the Controller haha. big fish in a small pond is nice.
thats cool man. if only ink didn't cost so damn much.
enjoy the weekend bro
thanks man. do you do public accounting or work for a corporation?
i drew the snake tattoo, but not the forearm piece. more to come haha...they're quite addicting
the d4 thermel from ******** is great!! thats what i used as a fat burner just start with half the dose at first it has a kick to it great to take before cardio!!
Thanx for the add and the compliments. It all comes down to how much you want it. I dont think it will take you very long to get where you want to be. I bet before Xmas you could get pretty cut up and start the new year a new person. ---X
I am glad to see that you are back and determined. I wish you nothing but success. I am doing well and at the present time my wife and I are out on the road “full time” having sold our house and bought a truck & 5th wheel trailer. We are traveling all over and working out at as many different gyms as we can. Stay strong, focused and determined.
Hey there, thanks for the posts. I know I have to get my butt into the challenge thread but this week has been crazy at work and I'm so beat by the time I get home(and get workouts in). Glad to see you are still going and there seems to be a few others really feeling motivated. That was my ultimate goal:) Will be active again in the next couple of days.
