I've always been active and I used to run a lot and play soccer. But when recovering after a major accident in March 1998 I first got into weightlifting. After several months of being in a hospital and wheelchair I was back on my feet but barely. At 90lbs I was only skin and bones and really needed to build muscle, so with help from several friends I got into weightlifting and I fell in love with it.
I've stuck with it ever since although every now and then I'll fall of the wagon (for one reason or another).
10 years after getting out of the wheelchair I celebrated my health by competing in a figure competition. And although placing last in each of my groups (which still gave me trophies to take home) I felt like a winner, I did it!!! I competed and I looked damn good on stage, and it was a great experience, I learned so much and met great people and I'm hooked. I loved it!!
Even though I might not compete again I will still continue to improve myself and my physique and if I'm happy with it I might step on a stage again.
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel strong and sexy and I feel energized after a good workout.
How I Stay Motivated:
I remind myself how it feels not being able to move.
And how great it felt to go out on that stage and show off all your hard work.
BB Accomplishments:
NPC All Forces Championship, Tampa, FL Oct. 25. 2008
Womens Novice Figure 2nd place
Womens Figure Over 30 4th place
Since getting into weightlifting I've admired the women of fitness and I've wanted to be able to be in good enough shape to be able to compete in one competition.
On Oct 25th 2008 I competed in a figure competition and I loved it. I hope to come back next year in better shape and more ready.
I have to work on my strength and add some muscle. I also need to work on my flexibility and endurance.
The trick is to try to maintain this level of fitness and try to keep up with the healty eating.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 1 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
15%
Upcoming Contest:
All Forces National Military Bodybuilding Championships
So the competition is over and I am without a goal, well still have the general goal of staying fit and healthy, and then it's the long term goal of adding muscle, getting more flexible and stronger. But I need to get myself a short term goal.
Right now I just go to the gym and basically go...
Thanks, I appreciate that you accepted my friend invite. Much success to you in accomplishing all your health and fitness goals. Take care and have a great week.
