I used to workout all the time in HS for sports. I was always a big, strong guy, but never fit. I went to college in 2000, had a great year, but knew something needed to change. That summer I lost over 100 lbs. But living the ultimate college experience didn't help with maintain my weight lost, and I put all of it back on, plus an additional 30 lbs. Last year, I it came to a point where I had to make a choice - either except my body the way it was, or change it to the body I always desired. I chose the latter. Since August of 2007, I lost 118 lbs, and now I want to shape, transform, and mold my body into a peice of work I, myself am proud of.
Why I Love It:
Bodybuilding is one of the few things that you have total control over in your life. You and only you dictate the success you're going to have. If you work hard, you'll get results, maybe not the ones you want, or get them when you want, but that's just something else to strive for.
How I Stay Motivated:
I think about all of the people over the years, and even those now who tell me that I can't do it. All of the ones with smart ass comments. My desire to show those who doubt that I do what I say I'm going to do, and my body will be my proof.
I want to take my shirt off anywhere in front of anyone (DA BEACH) by July 18th!
Goal (Long):
I want a body that is desired by others. I want people to say, "wow" he must be dedicated to his craft, look at his body!" I'd like to lose an additional 30 lbs, making my total weight lose somewhere near 140lbs. I'm giving myself another 2 years for my total transformation, but my goal is to see my abs within the next 12 months.
I've stayed focused since my last post. I'm working hard and eating right. In the gym, this week and next I'm trying to slow my reps down drastically and really feel the muscle work. I've been taking about 6-8 seconds for each rep, and 8-10 reps a set. I'm keeping my cardio up, doing...
Tuesday morning: Legs-modest weight, high reps
evening: Legs-heavy weight, low reps
*In the morning, I add in one minute of high intensity cardio between each set...
What up? I see you've made great progress. I'm drawing upon everyones energy/results to help keep me motivated. About to go hard again for a few weeks without the binge/crash at the end, so I can hold on to the results.
Good luck to you too.
