When I Started:
Sep, 2006
How I Started:
I was sick and tired of being skinny and weak! And I believe that if there is something in your life you don't like, then do something about it and improve yourself!
Why I Love It:
The feeling of confidence I have from knowing I can walk into almost any gym and be the strongest guy there. I love looking at 6'4", 6'5", and 6'6" giants who tower over me taking plates off after I'm finished with equipment, cause it was giants like them who would've picked on me in highschool and now I'm the man.
How I Stay Motivated:
I write down everything I do in the gym and record the date I performed it. So then if I ever get negative thoughts and begin to doubt myself I simply look at my training diary and am inspired by the incredible progress I see. It's an awesome reality check!
BB Accomplishments:
These are my Powerlifting accomplishments:
2008 BCPA Provincials, 1st, 100 kg
2008 BCPA Fall Classic, 1st, 100 kg
2009 BCPA Provincials, 1st, 100 kg

Alright my right bicep is better now and a couple days ago I clean and pressed 225 lbs, a +25 lbs PR!
Goal (Long):
I am a POWERLIFTER. Yes, I train primarily for strength but like anyone I care about my appearance, and want a bodybuilder style physique too. Like IFBB pro Johnnie Jackson, he is a professional powerlifter AND a bodybuilder! Why not have both right? I want it all.
Right now I am the Provincial Champion in British Columbia, Canada, in the 100 kg (220.5 lbs) weight class. But most of the time my weight is around 230 lbs and I have to diet down to 220 for my competitions.
I am 21 years old and from the way I've been gaining (muscle and strength), I am well on my way to being the next young phenom. When I started training at age 19 I weighed only 140 lbs, and managed to pack on 90 lbs of solid mass in less than two years! When I started training I was so weak I could only bench press 120 lbs, and now I can do 320 lbs!!
I would love to make friends on here and associate with like-minded people. When you have that sense of community it is so much easier to stay on track.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 10 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
Upcoming Contest:
2009 BCPA Fall Classic

Description: Benching 225 lbs X 9 only one day after doing 250 X 4. Yeah I did bench two days in a row, but only because the gym closed early because it was "Victoria Day" (a holiday to celebrate some English queen who died over 100 years ago, it's her fault I didn't get to finish my workout!! Stupid ho.)
May 25, 2009, 405 lbs X 6
Played: 37
Description: Squatting 405 lbs X 6 I am pushing myself to the limit in my quest for a 500 lbs squat !!!! In May 2008 I couldn't even squat this for one rep and now look at me!! :)
May 25, 2009, 455 lbs X 1

adding 2" is huge man good job. I occaisionally switch to high rep and love that pumped feelin. youre a few inches to my biggest dream having my thighs be the same size as my waist. Keep me updated as you progress. Again good job man!!!
added you and a host of others from Vancouver mainly because most of my friends (academics and artists) are NOT into bodybuilding and I know that I wont really get bigger and stronger unless I get the right social support...so...
Hiya. Ive been actually told of that book...but no copies at the UBC library. Do you have it? I had a former student who claims it as his favorite book and he's doing a Ph.D. now in Eastern Philosophy so that must be a good book. I dunno if I'll call myself an "intellectual bodybuilder" though that sounds good. Haha...
true enough..but, bottom line...i know i can outlift most guys..this i know for a fact as i've bench (lifted) along side guys and girls for that matter. im not saying they were pro powerlifters or bodybuilders. just average day to day..people into weight lifting..not on stage or competing.
regarding your 2nd question - the bb competition that i was in is an online bodybuilding competition that is on another forum...it last 8 months and you compete with other members.
sure i'll get my personal bests up there. just so you know im comparing myself to non-steriod users both male and females. i'm strong as compared to natural lifters. lol
Hey, thanks for the add!
I actually began following Arnold's BASIC Program I in Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding, and it incorporates some powerlifing moves; they really show you what you are made of!
Continued success, brother!
That was a really sweet and enouraging compliment you sent along with the friendship invite, thank you so much, I appreciate it! Best wishes to you this holiday season.
