Was in need of goal-oriented hobby, and wanted to improve my performance in sports. For improved self-confidence as well.
Why I Love It:
It gives to you what you put into it. If you go about it half-hearted, you'll get exactly that out of it. But, if you can really focus, and be patient, then you'll be greatly rewarded.
How I Stay Motivated:
Mirrors... tons of Mirrors! lol
BB Accomplishments:
Was 6'3" 165lbs (lanky) when I started. Within short period of time, managed to get get to 200lbs. Over last 7 years, have hovered normally within the 200-210 range, but want to put on MORE muscle.
I've been lifting for over 8 years now, and have had great success during the times that I've REALLY focused. Unfortunately, as is often the case, I can't always keep that focus, so I go through periods where I'm stagnant. I wan't to push myself, to the limits, that I know I can, and come out LARGE. I'm rather tall, so accomplishing this will be a challenge.
I recently tried to gain a lot of weight all at once, and for a bit, it was working ok, but then I was starting to get that "puffy" feeling too often, so I'd be going through "cut days" in the middle of my "bulking" phase.
For now... I'll try to gain my muscle, but do it a little slower. I work in construction, so I quickly feel overtrained if I'm in the gym too often.
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 10 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
6%
Upcoming Contest:
TBD

Why I like this video: Layne's in great shape... but still... reminds me that for us who don't "juice", you got to maybe be content with a little less "thickness".
Squats- The House
Played: 68
Why I like this video: Awesome form... and HUGE legs.
A couple weeks back, I was going into the gym with a renewed enthusiasm, that had me on the crazy euphoric high. Everytime I went, I was hitting new highs, and I was often doing workouts based on heavy basic movements. This left my body feeling like I was continually beating beaten with a bat, an...
Part2:
Here’s my training at that time (found my old training hehe).
One set of squat every workout (light weight). 1 set of 15 to 20 reps
Legs day:
Squat: 5 sets 15-12-10-8-6 (can do it with the Smith)
Leg press: 3 sets 12-10-8-6
Leg extension: 4 sets 12-12-10-8
Leg curl 4 sets 10-10-8-8
That’s it. I’m not a professional bodybuilder or trainer but it worked for me.
Have a nice day and training.
Hi Ben, thanks for your comment, I appreciate. For me the best exercise for quads is the classic Squat. Make sure to make full range of motion with lighter weight. Forget about heavy weight with half range and don’t care about others and you’ll progress faster.
No problem bro...another tip I would also work on your weak points. If your calves aren't symetrical or big train them a little more. I haven't taken BCAAs but I am looking forward to taking them they are great for putting on MASS. EAAs are great for cutting. Train Hard Eat clean get lean.

In response to your blog. I use to do construction and workout. One thing that I should have done is use weight gainers. I would use weight gainers and take some BCAAs.
