Overall Goal: Update:
Hello my birthday was May 14,2008 and instead of losing weight I gained weight according to my last doctor visit- I am now 170 so my goals have been revised. I want to lose the "spare tire" that I have around my midsection.
Fit Status:
I am seeing some results of my here and there workouts I planning to go back to the gym soon
did start unofficially in high school between 1975-1979 and in the Marines between 1979 and 1983, but was not consistent until 1984 when I started college. It was in my blood to exercise. I have always been interested in the human body and how it works
Why I Love It:
I love to see the transformation of the different muscle groups based on how I train them and it provides an outlet for a stressful day and along with the diet I love the whole holistic transformation
How I Stay Motivated:
It has been hard lately since I am not working and in college (online) so I am more sedentary and I have no contact with any of my old workout partners which kept me motivated. So this current goal is going to be a challenge
BB Accomplishments:
May 1999 Ohio Bodybuilding Championships 3rd place Bantamweight
May 2002 1st place Mr Cleveland lightweight , 4th place Masters Competition in Columbus (subject to revision based on what I remember)
this picture was taken after a competetion between 1988-1990 but dont know exact date I know it was when I was enfrolled in college.
This was taken at the 2002 NPC Ohio State
Championships in the Master and Lightweight competition -this is latest one I have I have not competed since then
This was my second attempt at trying to qualify for the jr. Nationals -my first was in 1999

Goal (Long):
Need to transform my body into close to contest shape -I need to lose fat overall I am 170 and I am better looking at 150 which is my contest weight
I want to maintain that shape for the rest of my life I would love to have muscle symmetry and get my abs in shape ,which will be challenge since that is where I accumulate my fat tissue.
I am unemployed and a Master's Student at Capella University . I have become more sedentary since my last employment in 2004 , therefore I have to increase my cardio -very frustrating to say the least
What is the most dangerous weightlifting exercise? Why?
Squats based on the body mechanics if done incorrectly it can injure your back -it has to be done properly considering where your center of gravity is concerned -it takes practice. I myself dont like to do the exercise all the time - I pay attention to my energy and mood level before attempting complex exercises such as these.Squats based on the body mechanics if done incorrectly it can injure your back -it has to be done properly considering where your center of gravity is concerned -it takes practice. Have you ever had a lifting injury?
Yes
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
Lower back injury If I can remember it caused me to be laid for at least 4 weeks with recurrent incidents until I went to the chiropractor and went through readjustments to realign my back I have not had any major injuries until I had hernia surgery in 2004 and it bothers me occasionally.Lower back injury If I can remember it caused me to be laid for at least 4 weeks with recurrent incidents until I went to the chiropractor and went through readjustments to realign my back I have not ...more

What is the most common reason that somebody gets injured while lifting?
Most of all improper form in the execution of the exercise and not being fully recovered from prior workouts which I am guilty of sometimes. I have re injured my back on occasion but recover based on quick actions such as initial ice therapy followed by heat and resting injured body part. Most of all improper form in the execution of the exercise and not being fully recovered from prior workouts which I am guilty of sometimes. I am working on getting my weight down for health purposes and yesterday I went to see a dietitian at the VA Hospital based on my heatlh concerns which I will get into later. I am just happy that I am focusing on this part of my life - Beside if my health is not great then I wont be living...
Thanks for dropping by. My leg routine will be getting nastier each weak with more weight and more nastiness. I am starting off with a 3 day split that I am doing 4 days a week. In the following months I will be doing a 2 day split 4 days a week and then a 3 day split 6 days a week. I have a lot of mass to slap on this body in the next 3-4 months. Take care.
Yeah, strength training, but in reality trying to cut body fat. Finally be able to see my muscles and all that. I'm not all that experienced with working out, but trying. Goal is to get down to 175. I am upping the cardio now, once after new years I will go run ever morning before work. But still lift 4 days a week. When the flag football season rolls around again I'll be working out for that but right now I want to get down to 175 by the end of April. Let me know what I should do.
The picture in my avatar is of me that one of my buddies took when we were snowboarding and were waiting for people to get down the slopes after us. Always thought it was a really cool picture. I will have questions, just did a six week cycle and now switching up lifting sets and exercises. I'll probably ask around another six weeks what kind of workout to switch to. I like the six week cycle because I can see my progress before it plateaus, its going pretty good.
Thanks! I may take you up on it. At this point though, I don't think I'm even worthy to put pics up! LOL! Although... it would be great to be able to compare before and after pics.
Training is going well. I am starting to trim down from 291 and am 281 now. Have to work the waistline a bit. I was discharged a Corporal and am a Captain in the AF now.
Looks like you are doing very well. Keep up the great work. With the price of gas I won't be getting to the gym everyday. I will have to go every other. Bought some weights and bands to use at home. Keep up the great work.
Training is going well. Got a new set of progress pics, and they actually look decent. Still need to post those up. How about you? Are you doing heavy cardio?
aw ****.... Be prepared for the ride of your life, it's very hard to beat cancer but it could ALWAYS be worse man.
