Mind is everything. Its the mind that creates the body.
My favorite muscle group to workout is the chest. I used to fear the bench press, until something clicked in my mind and I went from fearing 225 lbs, to reaching a 285 lb one rep max with a matter of months. After accomplishing that, my diet and lifestyle changed a bit and it hindered my growth and progress in the gym. Recently I refocused and came back with a vengeance. I attempted 285 again last week for the first time in about 6 months, and did it with more ease than in June. Anyway, I warmed up with very light weight on the flat bench today and after every set I added more and more weight. My reasoning behind this is to not only warm up the muscles and joints properly, but also to perfect my form and allow each set to help me get closer to the mindset I would need to lift really heavy. After 2 reps at 275, a buddy said "You had more in you." I did. I told him I was saving it, because I wanted to ATTEMPT 290, which would be my own personal record. Something told me to just throw a couple more discs on the bar totaling 300 lbs and go for it. Once the weight was on there, I didn't doubt my abilities. Deep down I knew i had it. I paced a bit allowing the intensity in my mind to build a bit for what I was about the attempt. When my friend was ready to spot me, I laid down, grasped the bar as wide as I could, and lifted. Successfully pressing that weight with no help, after not even planning on attempting it today, was the best feeling in the world. Could not stop smiling if I tried. The reason I say mind is everything is because I have had this ability for a while, Im sure. I just needed to be in the right mindset to accomplish it. Tap into your real power when you lift. You'll be glad you did.

After no supplements for a few months for financial reasons, I've started again my body and mind are loving it!
I am currently taking N.O. Xplode by BSN as a pre workout. Its a pretty intense drink and you'll definitely feel your body telling you to get out and hit the gym. I love that feeling. I feel the drink helps my body and mind get on the same wavelength in regards to the intense workout that is happening soon.
I have never taken creatine alone, although I have tried protein powders with creatine in them. I am currently taking Cell-Tech by Muscletech. I mix the powder in advance and drink it immediately after my workout. I then follow with a protein shake with a half and hour, followed by a meal whenever I feel I can handle one. I have only been taking the creatine for 1 week, so I cant give too much opinion on it. Yet, I feel optimistic about its benefits.
Keeping it simple, I take Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey Protein whenever I need too. Mainly after a workout and before bed. I would use Casein as well, but as I said, money is tight. One powder is cheaper than two.
