I started to get sent on extended back to back Business trips to Japan. Turns out you have a lot of free time when TV is in Japanese. The hotel had an attached athletic club that I began to visit nightly (nothing better to do) and my diet fixed itself seeing as what you eat in Japan is rice and fish 3-4 meals a day /w sushi snacks in between. Lo and behold I began to make gains. Motivation was off the hook seeing as I’m 6’2” so even with my modest gains I was the “big” guy in the gym. (ok so the cliental was also old Japanese business men, but hey).
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel better physically and mentally.
How I Stay Motivated:
By setting little goals all along the way
BB Accomplishments:
got up to 225 lbs at one point and was putting up 275lbs for reps and squatting 365 lbs

Let fitness become just another part of your daily, average life.
I have been at lifting about 5 years with some good results up and down. For the last 2 years I have cut for a late summer cruise. This year I was 10 lbs heavier at approximately the same BF%. I want to do the same for next year.
Well, since Thanksgiving I have been missing workouts left and right. I went from a strict 7 days in the gym ?(3 lifting days followed by an abs cardio day with no days off) to hitting maybe 4 days a week lifting. Part of me says "enjoy the time off. you busted your ass for 8 months...
Here is a 8 day workout that I do that addresses both Muscle confusion for arms (my lagging bodypart) and Push / Pull.
Day 1 Chest / Tri
Day 2 Legs / Shoulders
Day 3 Back / Bi
Day 4 Abs / Traps / Cardio
Day 5 Bi / Chest
Day 6 Shoulders / Legs
Day 7 Tri / Back
Day 8 Abs / Traps...

hey, have you seen the latest "extension" of my blog? I have a podcast now -- The Big Inside. It's a lot of my schtick -- you know, the HUMAN side of things. PLEASE check it out if you get a chance. You can catch it at thebiginside.com, or for free in the iTunes Store. Let me know what you think!!!
Dude I feel the same way about the slacking. I'm about to enter a two week period where I won't be working out or be able to keep up with the diet. I'm half dreading it and half looking forward to it.
Very impressive pics, Hurc. Legs, abs and delts especially (I can tell you're not one of those guys who ignores posterior delts...good job!). Keep up the great work, and keep on hulkin' out...
LOL, I know exactly what you mean. Because of Thanksgiving travel I've missed two workouts already. I am dying to get back to my routine tomorrow. The old me wouldn't have cared.
sup bro?! good to see another engineer on here. lol... just stoppin' by to let you know that you're doing well. you can definitely see your midsection coming through and your arms are definitely taking shape. keep it up!
I read your bio and thought it was great. I could relate to so much of it. Never in a million years would I have suspected that you were also the skinny geek club in college. Congrats on all of your gains!
P.S. Japanese tv is a riot. I couldn't believe some of the goofy stuff I saw when I was over there.
