When I Started:
Jun, 2008
How I Started:
Was sick and tired of being sick and tired! When I was deployed in 07, there was no time for working out, and not much food to eat (let alone HEALTHY food). My metabolism slowed tremendously and i lost all muscle i ever had (didnt have much, but still). so i essentially was "skinnyfat". Nothing made my self esteem plummet like my body doing down the drain!
Why I Love It:
Self- esteem and health! The improvements I see in my energy and my physical appearance make all the grunting and sweating well worth it =)
I can only imagine what my body can look like as I keep gaining knowledge, strength, and determination!
How I Stay Motivated:
This website is number 1. Always looking at everyone else's achievements keeps me motivated. You guys are always so nice and motivating, and I never feel inferior to anyone. This is the most helpful group of people I've ever had the pleasure of "meeting"!
BB Accomplishments:
Finally able to do a real pull-up =)

Would love to do one figure competition maybe a year or so from now just to see what i can push my body to do. i know if i really push myself, i can do this. it's all about throwing out the bread :o)

What type of outfit do you usually wear when you workout? Why?
usually an underarmor cross-back tank ad some light-weight shorts (loose, not bike shorts). i like showing my upperbody so during lifts i can watch my muscles contract. these shirts/tanks give me a little extra confidence :o)usually an underarmor cross-back tank ad some light-weight shorts (loose, not bike shorts). i like showing my upperbody so during lifts i can watch my muscles contract. these shirts/tanks give me a li...more

What calf workout has worked best for you?
3 point smith calf raises! toes straight, then outwards, then inwards to hit all angles of my calf. doing it on the smith allows me to go extra heavy since my grip strength still lacks so i cant hold DBs for very long :(3 point smith calf raises! toes straight, then outwards, then inwards to hit all angles of my calf. doing it on the smith allows me to go extra heavy since my grip strength still lacks so i cant hold ...more
Big dust storm coming in tonight so no running. I am trying to get some lifting equipment in my shop area. Good luck in the future. Also thank you for your service. I am proud to be your new friend:)

Just posted the arm workout we did friday, after the first 2 exercises arms feel like they are about to pop. Makin good progress, weighed 226 monday and still losing fat.. how have your workouts been.
Hey there! I sure am getting a lot of these questions lately. :) I should blog it since then I can go into greater detail about this process--the good parts as well as the difficult parts too. I think I'm a hard-gainer like you, so it took some crafty work to get over that hump. I'll start working on getting that blog up very soon. Thanks for dropping by, and happy workouts! :)
Yea diet is most important, I haven't been eating enough either but I'm steadily around 224 and I've lost probably 5 pounds of fat so Im not complaining. Its just hard to find time between school and work.
