How I Started:
In college, with some of my friends that were on the football team. It was always a help having guys who were much stronger to motivate me.
Why I Love It:
I started working out again in 2007, and have been off and on since because of my Triathlon schedule. I plan on incorporating a program that will allow a level of lifting that will balance with the endurance needed for Triathlons and other races.
How I Stay Motivated:
I support the Semper Fi Fund, which is a group of Injured Marines. Team Semper Fi goes around the country competing in endurance events to help raise funds and awareness for these heros who come back injured, and in many cases, amputees.

Improve For A Sport
Goal (Overall):
Improve my strength and Endurance to compete in more Triathlon events this year.
Goal (Long):
I started running in July 2007 to prepare for a Half-Marathon. I have been working with Team Semper Fi to raise funds for the Injured Marines Semper FI Fund ever since that event. In October of that year, I decided that I wanted to be ready to do a Triathlon by the end of 2008. Between November 2007 and April of 2008, I competed in five events, some regional and one national event. I'd like to become more competitive in my age group, while sculpting my body to a lower bodyfat percentage and possibly compete in a Half or Full Ironman Triathlon. For 2009 I would like to ramp up on strenght training and maybe put on 10-15 pounds of Lean Muscle Mass. Training for a Triathlon will make this extremely difficult because the required level of Cardio work actually tears down and destroys some muscle tissue.

No! I have been very busy and just got a full time job. I had surgery a few weeks ago and haven't been able to lift so I'm sticking with the cardio! When I can start weight training again I will be back on bodyspace more often!
