I joined the weight lifting team in highschool and have continued sporadically ever since then in the military. It was my main release when I lived in Afghanistan for stress and will be the same for Iraq.
Why I Love It:
I feel it is a way of life and feel more secure and confident when I see gains. I love the pumped feeling I get and the bursts of energy that come when I entered the gym. I loved knowing that if anything I am getting somewhere doing all of the hard stuff and that much closer to my own reality of ground combats effectiveness against tyrannous others. The line is finite and seen.
How I Stay Motivated:
Being deployed to combat motivates me to be in the best shape I can be in case I am ever in the situation that requires extreme endurance. We can't always solely depend upon our equipment to carry us through. God gave me what I have for my secondary mode and I intend to use it well. I know there are those that train just as hard on the other side in the spectrum of operations. Besides, my men look up to me!
BB Accomplishments:
25 mile ruck march in 7 hours 5 minutes with a 45 pound pack. Fought in Korea (Tae Kwon Do) in the US Army martial arts program. 98 pushups in 2 minutes,82 situps in 2 minutes and ran 2 miles in 12:48.

What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
Well...I would like to be as fit as a Navy Seal, but my time for all the hardcore seems limited. So I go out and do the near death on the weekends thing. IE Walking 40 miles ect. It's crazy how bad I want it.Well...I would like to be as fit as a Navy Seal, but my time for all the hardcore seems limited. So I go out and do the near death on the weekends thing. Which pro bodybuilder/fitness/figure competitor has the ideal physique? Why?
I think that Special operations guys have what is ideal because they go out and get theirs every day. Those guys are born tough and able it seems and to swim in water as cold as the atlantic in shorts well that's pretty hardcore!I think that Special operations guys have what is ideal because they go out and get theirs every day. Ok lately I have just gotten out of the VA where I held an IT job in the gym. My workouts were just 10 sets of 10.
Now I don't work there and am finding new ways of inventing a new me Army style so that I can be there and be ready...at least as far as playing with my son, who's 1 by the way...
Hey, how are things going? I would have to say just good old fashioned bench press has helped me with my lower and outer chest development more than any-thing. You'll notice most heavy benchers have very dense lower and outer pecs.
Eh, everything's as good as can be expected here. Trying to stick to my gym schedule. Walking up a mountain really leaves me feeling drained. I'm sure you know how it is trying to keep any kind of routine during deployment!
Take care of yourself, and enjoy your holidays, too.
