When I Started:
Dec, 2007
How I Started:
Even though I've always been "skinny-fat", it wasn't until after I graduated college that I packed on a solid 35 pounds. Working full time and sitting down along with living a life of ice cream and cigarettes did nothing to help the situation. I knew how to lift weights after being a swimmer in high school & cross training but didn't really think to use it in my weight loss progress. In 2007, I developed a mild heart condition which would require a non-invasive surgery. Knowing that healthy bodies heal better, I investigated bb.com for ideas on how to get fit. (I now no longer need the surgery!) I've been going strong since December 2007.
Why I Love It:
First and foremost, I'm healthier. I love feeling stronger, more fit, and happier. I actually hate cardio routines but I do it because it's necessary but weight lifting is SO FUN for me. I love it!
How I Stay Motivated:
I've made this bodyspace and now the world knows I'm starting something so I must finish it!! I'm not looking so cool if my numbers don't continue to drop. I've made great friends on here who help. I also have seen me have more confidence and that's a big drive as well. I'm also headed to Hawaii in June 2008 ~ gotta get Bikini Ready (so cliche but I have an excuse!) Also, big ups to CHICKENTUNA and her website. Her words are way more motivating than her amazing physique!
I've come to terms as to the WHYs of why I continue to work out and that has made me the most driven I have ever been. This is about ME and no one else.
BB Accomplishments:
Learning to wake up at 4:30 a.m is just the beginning! :-D

And we're off! waist circumference is 40 inches at bellybutton. EW!
What a difference eating clean, gymin' it everyday, and staying focused make! No excuses, despite an avid social life and law school, I still trudged through! Still going. This is by no means to an end.
To stick to my twice a day workouts no matter the after work happy hour/party or no matter the amazing weather. Implants go in this fall! More motivation than ever!
Goal (Long):
Best back in America! :-D Sit without worrying if my gut is hanging out. Drop my BF by A LOT. Leg press 200+ leg press. Rock my abs.

What is your cardio exercise plan?
I walk my dogs in the morning for about 30 minutes on the days I don't lift in the A.M. If I lift in the A.M, I'll do 30 mins of cardio on my lunch break and then 30-60 mins after work. Do you currently have a workout partner?
Yes
Why do you like having a workout partner? What are the benefits?
I have a group of buddies I've met at the gym. We sometimes help each other out w/ spotting or training advice. But it's pretty sporadic. I just enjoy talking to others about fitness! They also help me to ensure I'm lifting for max. effectsI have a group of buddies I've met at the gym. We sometimes help each other out w/ spotting or training advice. But it's pretty sporadic. The Friday before the Superbowl, I was lifting pretty hard. Muscle group for that day: CHEST. I had read an article on bb.com that the 3 largest areas are your legs, back, and chest. Knowing that for every pound of muscle you gain, you'll burn an extra 50 calories. Goal: Build the...

I'm glad training is going well for you! The sunshine IS really nice. I'm just recovering from bronchitis, but I was doing some strongman training outside (don't know if you ever seen the World's Strongest Man on ESPN), but I'm training for a local comp of that type. It's really nice training outside though. :)
