Background
During track season my freshman year in high school, I was introduced to lifting weights. I became so amazed when I built some biceps after a couple weeks of doing curls!! After I learned to also work triceps...I was hooked.
It's such a natural high!! I love feeling strong and that I accomplished something. And who doesn't like looking good? When you feel good about yourself it reflects in your confidence and attitude.

After reading several articles about 'metabolic burnout'.. I realized a while back that I did in fact screw with my body by doing lots of cardio and no carbs the last two competition seasons, like I suspected. My body got used to the hour of fasted cardio in the morning last year, and oddly so did I, so I just kept doing it through last summer, then decided to take it easy after the Olympia. My body didn't like that..so therefore a lifestyle that would normally keep me in maintenance... Go to BodyBlog

A down to Earth true human being. And an official BA. I was only was able to work with her for a brief moment, but in that moment described what she's all about. She brings the positive energy day in and day out no matter what and will go out of her way to help anyone. She has so much left to do in life and those around her will be a step ahead with her encouragement. Definitely an inspiratio...

...Sweet Complexes
Posted in Training : Mar 15, 2012 4:31pmThis morning I tried out one of John Romaniello's complexes in place of cardio.. and it kicked my butt! Super fun!
4 rounds with the same barbell in your hands the whole time (different amount of reps for each exercise based on strength in each), rest 2 minutes between rounds:
Power Cleans
Front Squats
Bent Over Row
Push Press
Stiff-Legged Deadlift
BAM. Sweaty. :)
FTS
Posted in Training : Jan 26, 2012 11:02amYep, FTS. Eff the scale. haha
According to it I put on 4 pounds since last week. On the flip side though, I'm starting to be able to see my abs again, and I PR'ed deadlifts by 50lbs this morning (I obviously hadn't tried super hard with deads before.. but you can bet your butt I am from now on!! :)
So yes, this is a lesson I've learned the other 2 times I've dieted for contest prep and had confirmed yet again - FTS. :)
