How I Started:
Looking to get in shape for football and really needed to get stronger because I was really weak to start out. Couldn't do cardio that well.
Why I Love It:
It's a fun experience and is really a beneficial hobby to not only improve the way I look but boost my self-confidence as well.
How I Stay Motivated:
By imagining myself in the NFL.

Being able to lift 225 lbs. a couple of times on bench. (albeit decline).

Right now on overhead press I stick with 4 sets of 8. Every 2 weeks I change and go to 4 sets of 12-15 just to force a little more blood than usual into the shoulders. When my strength really started going up I had added 3 sets of 8 close grip behind neck presses on the msith machine.

Hey thanks for noticing! I usually do one warm up set, and then 3 working sets for 10,10, and 12 reps, or failure on the last set. It took awhile to get the form and feel down, it came together one day after a year of trying to get better at bent over rows. I also add 5 pounds every week and try to get the same amount of reps. If I cant get all the reps, I stay at that weight until I get them, or do one extra set. Once I do 10,10,12 it's time to move up. Hope this helps!
