I used to be always lean and eat whatever I wanted.(Beer racing, eating rice all the time, pizza, fried chicken, lots of pasta you name it.)
After I moved to the States from South Korea in spring, 2007, I gained 39lbs in 5 months.(went from 125lbs to 164lbs. I think it was because of depression and such a dramatic change in the enviroment. I had quite the worst of my life time so far in those days as I had to strive to survive on my own with no family or friends.
However, I faced the obstacles and overcame them by myself. I learnt so much about myself and life and feel stronger, but the most problem that I have come to face with.. the Bodyfat.
So, I've been researching a lot about workout/diet and gotten really into this whole scene.
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel great about myself. I feel more energy and healthy after working out and it definately releases my stress.
How I Stay Motivated:
Goals and contingencies are important. But they exist in the future and the past, beyond the pale of the sensory realm. Practice (the path of mastery) exists only in the present. You can see it, hear it, smell it, feel it. To love the plateau is to love the eternal now, to enjoy the inevitable spurts of progress and the fruits of accomplishment, then serenely to accept the new plateau that waits just beyond them. To love the plateau is to love what is most esssential and enduring in your life.

SIX DEADLY DIET SINS
# 1 DON’T CUT CALORIES TOO MUCH
Eating fewer calories than you need each day creates an energy deficit causing fat loss. However, severe cuts can lead to a slowing of the metabolic rate, ultimately making it difficult to rip up.
Solution: Make moderate cuts in calories....
