When I Started:
May, 2002
How I Started:
Initially my gym training (May, 2002) was to improve my sprint cycling performance. When I left school, moved, and entered the real world, despite taking time out from competition, I never stopped training or going to the gym. The gym that I used was full of New Zealand's top NZFBB bodybuilders. I had the sudden impulse 12 weeks out from the regional NZFBB competition (August, 2004) to enter the figure class for fun and the experience, because it was something totally different to any sport I had ever done (cycling was never 'fun'; when you get to the elite level in any sport [I think that] fun stops entering the equation). The guys were great, helping me out with training and diet. For the first time in my life I saw my body do things that I never thought possible (cyclists' resistance training is performance orientated, not for aesthetics). Seeing those changes was more rewarding than all my national and international cycling merits. Plus, I grew up as a tomboy, and the closer I got to the competition, the more I started to actually feel and WANT to embrace my femininity! I didn't have any expectations; I just wanted to see what I could do with the time that I had. I placed 3rd, but didn't compete at the NZFBB Nationals despite qualifying (As with cycling, I enjoyed the training more...) That competition (November, 2004) was supposed to be a 'first and last' event. But, since retiring from cycling (December, 2007), because of who I am and what my life has been like for the last 9 years, and because I HAVE to be doing SOMETHING, I started focusing on gaining muscle mass, with the intention of eventually competing seriously...I decided (September, 2009) to compete in 2010, aiming to win my WNBF Figure Pro and Ms. Fit Body Pro cards...
Why I Love It:
I am an adrenaline junkie with an exercise addiction! I love pushing my body to its limits, to see how far it will go. It hasn't broken yet, but I am (and I love it!) walking that very fine line between extreme and progress...
How I Stay Motivated:
Goal achievement. Challenging myself and proving that I can do what others tell me is not possible for me. I am a very 'driven' person. I see where I am and where I want to be and I use the stubborn willpower God gifted me with to get there. Goal-setting is definitely an important factor; one needs to know that what they are doing has a purpose!
BB Accomplishments:
"A Work in Progress" as far as bodybuilding competition is concerned; that comes in 2010... However, other "accomplishments" related to "bodybuilding" include: SPONSORS: * Applied Nutriceuticals - Sponsored Athlete (2008, 2009, 2010) * Applied Nutriceuticals - Representative (New Zealand, Australia, Bodybuilding/Health and Fitness Forums, 2008, 2009, 2010) COMPETITIONS: * FLEX Bikini Model Search Online (2009) OTHER CREDITS: * SportsImproper Website - Featured Model (June 8, 2009) * Painting with Light Website - Gallery, Rosie (July, 2009) * Rosie’s MuscleRevolution Website - Site Model (August, 2009) * Anabolic Minds Newsletter - Featured Member (September No. 1, 2009) * Muscular Development Forums - MD Forum Babe of the Month (October, 2009) * Applied Nutriceuticals Website - Team APPNUT Athlete (November, 2009) * Muscular Development Magazine - Featured Babe of the Month (December Vol. 46 No. 12, 2009) * Real Feats of Strength Website - Figure Athlete (December, 2009)

Members That Inspire Guejsn:
AvaCowan [ BodySpace ]
Not only is Ava's career truly inspirational, but she is a genuinely beautiful person. She moves from strength to strength as a person and an athlete, always getting better and better. I have much respect for WHO she is as a person...IMO, Ava has the perfect female physique. She inspires me to take my physique to the ultimate level possible for me, and every time I see her Fat Loss Cycle ad/avi I am remotivated with my conditioning and striving to be leaner than ever and the best that I can be!
JamieEason [ BodySpace ]
A perfect balance between muscle and femininity, Jamie was the woman who first inspired me to consider [fitness] modeling (being the same height). She inspires me because she has had so much success in so little time. She's not afraid to put herself out there and take risks. Jamie also inspired me to compete seriously (once I had retired from cycling) and to compete in the Natural Federations.
