Long story. I started working out actually after a hard break up with my girlfriend. My weight around that time was near 250. My college friend and I decided we would start using the university gym. So we went for a while, adjusting to this new environment not really knowing what we were doing. We were doing nothing but machines at the time. About a year later, I was able to go on my own but my workouts were sloppy and inconsistent. I started experimenting with cable, but the bulk of my exercises were machine based. After I graduated, I decided I wanted to get serious about working out. I started to transfer my workout from machines and cables to barbells and dumbbells.
Why I Love It:
I enter my own little world when I work out. I'm in the moment and the stress of life seems to vanish when I pick up a dumbbell. And I know that each completed rep will help me reach my goal. It also allows me to be able to challenge myself to want to do better then next time I work out.
And the compliments aren't to bad either.
How I Stay Motivated:
The results I, as well as others see. Even though I don't see them as drastic as my friends do.
Never believeing what I can do is all I can do. I am always looking for a new way to challenge myself. And to also proving to others that you can be good at several things.
It's also an added bonus to hear women telling me that I'm looking hot and asking about my situation.

Currently following the CrossFit program.
Ever since I was a kid, I have always been on the heavy side. This led to kids picking on me and teasing me as well. I've been very self conscious about my body and how it looks. I haven't taken my shirt off at the beach since I was little. This has also played a role in my lack of self confidence when around new people, especially women. I want to lose the fat, once and for all, and gain more muscle than I already have. I'm hoping to hit 10% body fat or under by my next birthday. I am going to do this through training hard, eating clean and being dedicated to my routine. Most importantly, I want this to happen without the use of steroids or surgery. When I look in the mirror, I want to know this was all a result of me and my effort.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 10 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
10%

It definitely was good running into you also bro! let me get your number and we could workout sometime. Im going tomorrow around the same time. I might try that crossfit program after I finish this 12 week program Im on.
That's a really good plan. Where did you find that program? I need to get those lean meats. As of now, I only have tuna and turkey, but I need a better source of nutrition. I might try out whey as another source of protein. What kinds of fruits do you eat normally? Oh by the way where is the marathon going to be?
I have to work 3-day weeks and practice better nutrition at the same time. I have no job so its hard to pay for everything I need to eat. I eat mainly had tuna, veggies, wheat bread, 0% milk. I think the one thing that I dont get enough of is protein. I need to keep a tally on what I eat. Right now Im using Noxavol as my only supplement. I was thinking of getting some whey protein. But yeah, that gym is cool. I dont go to it as much since I have one a little closer. What kind of plan are you on?
Well starting monday, I'm gonna be working on doing this 12-week trainer program. I have been doing random routines just trying to get started with everything. For the last couple of weeks I was doing 5-day workouts mainly working on biceps, chest, traps, and abs. On the 12-week trainer, I will have to work on chest/triceps/abs on mondays, back/biceps/calves wednesdays, and legs/shoulders/abs on fridays.
I loved reading your background. We walked a similar path. I started with an equally clueless buddy in college. I also continue sloppily on my own but it took me years and years before I decided to get serious. Glad you figured it out earlier than I did!
