How I Started:
I was a soccer player in college and my coach got me started.
Why I Love It:
Sorry, I don't love bodybuilding. I have alot of respect for the training and diet just not a fan of the sport. I workout because I like to pick up, carry, and throw heavy things.
How I Stay Motivated:
Last winter I had a cerebral cyst rupture and wound up in the ICU. For 4 months I wasn't allowed to lift. Since then I've lost 25lbs and want get down to 185. My goals are to stay healthy, do well at the World Masters Highland Games Championships and try to get the qualifying total for the Pan-Am Masters meet in Olympic Lifting (85kg class).
BB Accomplishments:
None, but I compete in Highland Games and Weightlifting, I've done one strongman and would like to do more. Best accomplishment is my two sons!!

Braemar Stone: Nice rock. First attempt I hit a PR!!! Felt really strong right off the bottom...
Basicly I'm breaking things into three week cycles starting at 9 weeks out from my first Heavy Events. I get to workout 3 days per week so a planed week goes something like this.
Cycle 1 - 3 days in weightroom, focus on the Powerlifts and assistance exercises.

Wanted you to know I attended the Ohio Scottish Games this weekend. I had the opportunity to work as a volunteer for the athletic competition. Great time, great bunch of guys!!!
Real men wear kilts! Good to see a fellow "brother-of-the-wool," and enjoyed your blog about the Games. Can't wait for the NH Highland Games in September. Cheers!
You gotta respect a man in a "skirt" in the snow with a freakin big rock! GO GM GO!!
PS I know the whole let down of getting injured too, I am right in the middle of mine. Oh and I'm Scots/Irish so don't hate me for skirt comment :)
