When I Started: Jan, 2007
How I Started: When my husband (trixter747) and I first started dating I went to the gym with him to see him in his element. I wasn't too serious at first, but as I started feeling better I became more serious. Now that I'm really seeing results I would consider myself addicted to it.
Why I Love It: Feeling more self confident and seeing that it shows!
How I Stay Motivated: Looking at pics of my heroines Jamie Eason and Doneker King! Working out with my husband and Doneker. Pics of me and noticing what I can improve. Seeing changes in the mirror. My husband's encouragement and the smile he gets when I realize my gains.
BB Accomplishments: Went from barely being able to leg press the machine weight (150 lbs) in January to adding 250lbs x 12 reps after a 225/180 dropset. Setting a July 12 competition date.

Goal (Short): Do not beat myself. 9 Weeks to State, Gaspari Stack is a GO! :D C3 Goals: &lt;10% body fat, maintain as much muscle as possible while preparing for contest July 12.
Goal (Long): I want to compete this summer and place. Seeing all these beautiful, fit women who work so hard (like MsFitness and Jamie Eason and Doneker King) is really inspiring. I will have arms and delts to rival Jamie and Doneker! To greatness and beyond! Long-term: I would like my pro card by 2013. I want to be known for the hard work I put in at the gym. Muscles are sexy, and I want to help make that mainstream, in a "DAAAAANG she works hard and that's hot" way.

Yes
Do you use a heart rate monitor? Which one?
Whichever one is on the machine
What heart rate do you aim for while doing cardio? Why?
It should be the cardio range, but I typically try to stay in the fat loss range to lose the fat.

Yesterday's cardio did not happen :(  This crazy freaking weather (75+ and sunny, then 50 and raining the next day or two, then right back to beautiful) here has me all sorts of unhappy (my head feels like it's going to explode, I'm exhausted, my GI tract hates me), but I've still hit the gym...

Lunch sounds GREAT! That would be fun! Do you live close? Leadville starts Saturday, August 16, but John and I are talking about flying in on Thursday. We will both be nervous wrecks (just a word of caution, ha!), John for the race and me and my comp, which by then will be about one month out!
