I have always loved weight lifting. I started lifting when I was a freshman in high school. While a lot of guys in my school were training to be on the football team, I was killing myself in the gym only to impress myself, not the girls or the coaches. I don't believe in showing off or bragging, there is always someone faster or stronger than you. Besides that fact, showing off only leads to injury and or a degrade in your workout's effectiveness. At first I started bodybuilding as an act of disgust toward the present army PT standards, but after bodybuilding for a couple of months I began to realize how much I enjoyed it. I won’t give up bodybuilding, not even if I am ordered to. If I wanted to be a scrawny bone bag, I would work out the army’s way, but I want to have the body of man instead of the body of a 14 year old boy.
Why I Love It:
I love bodybuilding and working out because it is challenging and allows me to vent frustrations and stress. I always feel extremely exultant and relaxed after a good workout. I also love it because it is my way of expressing my individuality. I am all about individuality; why would you want to act or look exactly like someone else?
How I Stay Motivated:
I just think about all those people who say, "you can't do it." "It can't be done." "Can't" has no place in my vocabulary.
BB Accomplishments:
Bodybuilding in an environment that discourages it.
