Contest History
Organization:
Contest: WNPF World Powerlifting Championships
Date: Nov 09, 2007
Location: Georgia, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Other
Bodyweight: 124 lb (56.4 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: I won my division and also the Single Deadlift, breaking the World Record! The old record was 260 pounds and I did 264.5. The competition used the metric system, so it was 120 kilos.

The competition was AMAZING! The best experience I have EVER had as an athlete! The suppport from my Team USA team members was incredible and I really enjoyed watching the different techniques used by powerlifters from other countries.

Plus, our Team USA uniforms rocked! The pants were one leg red and white stripes and the other navy with white stars. They had to grow on you, but everyone leraned ot love them and all they stood for!

The awards were great and the competition ran smooth.

The only downer was forgetting to tell the head judge that my right knee does not lock out prior to my first squat and loosing the lift! The judges were very good at telling lifters why they did not make their lifts and very consistant!

Contest: WNPF Canada America Nationals
Date: Oct 28, 2007
Location: Ohio, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Other
Bodyweight: 124 lb (56.4 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: I got first in Powerlifting and first in the single deadlift. Played around with techniques and weights to prepare for World's. Wanted Best Overall female lifter, but it went to a 68 year old woman that broke the national record for her division. She sooooooooooo deserved it!!! I hope I'm still lifting at 68! Heck I hope I'm still breathing at 68!

I was extremely happy with how well I did after being out of the gym for 5 months and only being back in three weeks before this competition!
Organization:
Contest: WNPF Ohio Powerlifting Championships
Date: Mar 25, 2007
Location: Ohio, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Other
Bodyweight: 127 lb (57.7 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: First powerlfiting competition. Got a little worried when I missed my first lift of the meet. But grew with confidence every lift to get personal bests in all 3 events. Confidence really soared after a partial standing ovation after my second deadlift! Qualified for Nationals! Got a really nice sword with a first place name plate in place of a trophie! Sweet! 2nd meet April 7th in Maryland! I'm so rocked and ready!
Organization:
Contest: Meadville YMCA Annual Fall Weightlifting Tournamen
Date: Nov 18, 2006
Location: Pennsylvania, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 125 lb (56.8 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: Competition not female friendly. The lowest weight category was 180 and under and a coed division. Small turnout and I was the only woman. I did both the bench and the deadlift competitions! It was my first deadlift competition. Increased my PR in the deadlift by 50 pounds in a lift that took little effort! Not bad for someonoe who wanted to do the deadlift because it looked like fun! I think it will end up being my strongest event!

Found out about an event called the Pump and Run where you run and bench for a combined score. As a runner I'm "pumped" about the possibilty of competing in that in the summer!
Organization:
Contest: 1st Annual U.S. Army Bench Press and Deadlift Comp
Date: Oct 15, 2006
Location: Pennsylvania, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Women's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 123 lb (55.9 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: This was sponsored by the Army and was free and there was a really poor turnout. Once again there was only one other woman. She was in my weight divison, but not my age division. We both lifted the same weight and it was both of our competition personal bests. I was hoping to improve by 10 pounds, but had poor grip placement which another lifter corrected on my last attempt at my opening weight. I put it up with ease! I really need someone to help with my technique. I have been reading a lot, but still am not improving!

But, I am achieving my goal as three women approached me to ask about competing themselves. I really want to see more women competing in our area!
Organization:
Contest: Battle of the Bench 2
Date: May 20, 2006
Location: Pennsylvania, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Women's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 120 lb (54.5 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: There was only one other woman and she weighed 60 more pounds than I do. It was a great first experience. But I wish that I had someone to help me learn technique. I know I can lift more, but am not sure how to go about it.

I wish more women competed in our area!
