Re-vamping my personal nutrition program
I took this weekend to tear through the pantry/fridge/freezer and eliminate unhealthy options... I didn't realize how much junk I had! I am also cutting out sweet tea. I have already given up all carbonated drinks (it was my 2012 resolution - stuck with it the whole year!). Last night, hubby and I had steak. Yup, just steak. We were both full afterwards too! I have chicken in the fridge for tonight. I am making my own program so I stick to it, but it is modeled after a blend of Paleo, Zone, and Eat Clean.
- 5-6 meals a day
- 1-2 meals replaced w/ protein shakes
- No heavy carbs after lunch
- One gallon of water a day
I am allowing one cheat day a week (not binge day) so I do not feel too deprived. Surprisingly, I have been doing this for almost a week, and I don't feel like I need a cheat day! I am full and satisfied after every meal, and they are a fraction of the amount of calories then my meals of the past.
