How I Started:
I started working as a Personal Trainer at Gold's Gym and grew curious whenever the guy trainer's would talk about getting ready for a show and I had always wondered about it but never thought I could do it then I just decided what the heck so here I am!
Why I Love It:
It's a great mood elevator! I've literally seen myself getting irritable and cranky with others one minute then turn around and feel exhilarated and happy after my workout. It's amazing! It's like a drug I just can't get enough of.
How I Stay Motivated:
I will usually flip thru one of my Bodybuilding magazines and see all those girls who transformed their bodies and told their stories of how they struggled too and it gets me focused and ready to MOVE!
To actually see my ABS and my muscle tone in my legs and feel confident in doing my 1st Figure Competition!

What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
I did have a knee injury (due to overuse) I didn't tear anything (thank god) but I was down for a good 2 weeks with very limited use/range of motion. It hurt like hell to even squat to use the toilet! Don't want to try that one again.I did have a knee injury (due to overuse) I didn't tear anything (thank god) but I was down for a good 2 weeks with very limited use/range of motion. How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
I started a new routine about 2 weeks ago where I lift heavy and only do 6 reps/4 sets. The next week I will lift slightly lighter weights and do 8-12 reps/4 sets then the following week I will lift lighter weights to failure/4 sets then start the cycle over again. I also do choose up to 3 body parts to focus on that week and will do multiple exercises for that particular body part. For ex: Biceps might include heavy lifting @ 6 reps/4 sets doing Incline DB curls, Hammer curls, E-Z bar curls, E-Z bar preacher curls and DB concentration curls, then I will hit my other body parts doing lighter weight/higher reps and only 2 sets.I started a new routine about 2 weeks ago where I lift heavy and only do 6 reps/4 sets. How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
30 minutes to 1 minute on my 8 - 12 rep range day and 1 - 2 minutes on my 6 rep heavy days.
Alright you guys. I was doing great last week and all this week. Been eating right without an urge to splurge and keeping up quite well on my workouts. However, then the weekend hit! My main problem is not drinking. I told my friends I was only going to have 1 or 2 Michelob Ultras...
thank you much for visiting my web..if you ever need a helping hand, yell at me..:)
Have a great weekend and best of luck with your figure comp....dont hold back!
Steve
yep its a long journey - more like a rollercoaster of ups and downs - no matter what - keep you eye on the end result and keep your first pic handy!!! it really does help. I keep going back to that pic at the moment cos its getting really REALLY hard and it helps. Day by day - but enjoy it!
G'Day there! Thanks for the request! I see you have Val's shoudler workout vid! I love this one soo much I actually do it myself. And believe me- stick to your comp prep and you WILL see your abs! good luck - would love to hear how you are progressing
I splurged on my kid's b-day too.
I hear ya on the tummy and saddlebags. That's awesome that people don't think he's your son. I hope people think the same about me in a few years:)
Happy Bday to him! How old? My little guy's was earlier this month....I ate a LOT of cake :(.
I've got a friend from outta town coming in this weekend. Luckily she is an exercise junky!!
Just noticed you want to do a figure comp. Any time soon?
