How I Started:
Saw pictures of myself in a bathing suit from summer of 2008 and decided I had to do something about it. I went out and bought some women's fitness magazines and started reading through them and decided that I could get a program together for myself and maybe even someday compete in a fitness contest.
I have always been extremely active and watched my weight since I was a teenager it was very important to me to always stay pretty fit and trim, my dad bought my first Gym membership for me when I was 15 and I was hooked.
I have owned and trained horses most of my life including working on a couple of horse ranches when I was younger training baby horses and as a Stallion Manager so I have always stayed pretty fit just from all the work that goes into that on a day to day basis.
Now that I am getting older it takes a lot more exercising and a very healthy diet to stay in shape and I have finally realized that I need to focus on the extra exercising and eating right part.
Gosh it was so much easier when I was younger :-)
Why I Love It:
I feel so much better about myself now that I am eating cleaner and working out daily.
How I Stay Motivated:
The support and motivation from my Fiance', family and friends and reading lots of muscle and fitness magazines and books.
But most importantly is my beautiful Daughter, she is my angel here on earth and knowing that I am staying strong and healthy for her is so very important to me, she is physically disabled(she has a genetic disorder called Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1, which affects all the voluntary muscles leaving her essentially paralyzed) so therefore she needs her mommy to be strong and healthy and to be around for a very very long time :-))

Goal (Long):
I have lost 20 lbs and 9% body fat so far, my goal is to continue to eat clean, workout and get my body fat down to 16% and to continue to tone so that I look great in my clothes and bikini.
First and foremost he is my Fiance', but he also sets a very good example to all those around him by pushing himself at work and in the gym every day. He has truly accomplished so much in his lifetime over coming so many obstacles throughout his life. He helps motivate me on a daily basis, therefore I push myself harder. Together we live our life very healthy and to the fullest each and every day!!
After seeing what Heather has accomplished it motivated me to join team poynters program and I am already seeing wonderful results as well. Thank you Heather for sharing your progress!
Why? What are the pros and cons of working out there?
Coverted my garage into a home gym, I don't have to wait around for equipment and the best part is I don't have to worry about getting every ones sicknesses that they bring into the gym!!!

Hey Wanda! I'ts going pretty good...took a little break for a couple of weeks but I'm back at it hard and heavy now. Hoping to make some nice gains in about 6-8 weeks or so. How are you and your man? Sucks it's not boat season anymore right?:)

I want to say that you are making great strides in your quest to get into great shape and I congratulate you on all of your hard work. Too many people think it can’t be done and so they don't even try but you are proving that it can. You are showing tremendous determination and strength of spirit and are a true inspiration. That sounds good. I just got my body fat worksheet that we do for weigh-in's and PT tests and I am at 22%. I need to start getting that down under 20%. My main thing is getting my diet under control. How about u?
