My Dad got me into bodybuilding and weight lifting. I got my first plastic cement filled weight set at age 8. My Dad is in his 60s now and is still a big guy. I'd have to say second was television shows with bodybuilders - while my Dad was inspired by Steve Reeves in Hercules I was inspired by the Incredible Hulk with Lou Ferrigno and wrestling with Hulk Hogan. It was watching these shows with my Dad that inspired me to get into bodybuilding and then eventually read the muscle magazines, join a gym, and eventually compete, then start running contests.
Why I Love It:
The people I'm around inspire me - I am a General Manager of two health clubs in Connecticut (Shelton and New Haven). I work at least sixty hours per week; I hire and train all of the staff from membership sales people, personal trainers, front desk, babysitters, and group exercise instructors.
How I Stay Motivated:
Helping others compete and when people thank me for producing shows for them to enter. When people acknowledge how much they enjoy either of them. The very best is when I hear people praise the show and they don't know that I produce it. It is great to know that people sincerely enjoy the event and the website and that it becomes a special part of people lives.
BB Accomplishments:
The trophies are not that special to me - more so Selling out natural bodybuilding and fitness events on a consistant basis year after year.

Bodybuilding is a unique sport which requires competitors to exhibit maximum muscle mass and minimum body fat at the same time. These two requirements are somewhat unnatural in that the body prefers to gain both muscle and fat together or lose them together. So...
There is a show on the schedule for may at the new havens gold's. I really wanted to do the Jay Cutler classic in Boston, but it would be a loooong drive. I was toying with the idea of doing some OCB shows.
No need to explain! I was so GREEN! I didnt upload the videos here yet because my pc crashed and I lost alot of what I had edited. I will get it. I do have that one little clip my daughter took. made me notice how badly I neglected my calves after an injury last year. they are 9 months behind the rest of me. I need a choreographer for a BB routine. Next November I hope I will be ready! Katz show perhaps?
no,no, it WAS positive! I am so stubborn so it motivated me to try harder. No one tells me I can't and doesnt see me trying harder to prove them wrong....thats how I made it to the Arnold...haha
Hey Brian, where have you been. I have to get my shows in order this week, but will certainly have yours on the list. I have a secret motivation story that has to do with you.......believe it or not, you once told me I didnt have enough muscle to compete.......I set out to prove you wrong
Brian,
I know you are really busy so I won't take up too much of your time. Would you recommend NOT taking creatine if I am really trying to lean out?
Thanks bro,
Mike
