"I want to lose about 15 lbs (currently 5'5", 145lb.) and add nice lean muscle. I'm just mostly interested in being more streamlined."

When I Started:
2002
How I Started:
Almost embarassed to put in when I got started. I was doing really well for a while but things changed in my schedule, coupled with frustrations in my progress made me yo yo for a while. It all started after I had my third child and my body really started holding on to the fat that I never worried about before when I picked up my first fitness magazine: Fitness. Then I started reading Muscle and Fitness Hers and Oxygen. I also found that I enjoyed reading the mens bodybuilding magazines, too. Using what I learned from them because they seemed to talk about techniques that the women's mags didn't. I also lost some desired weight on a modified Atkins diet. Modified in that I didn't follow any particular book or lesson. I just did what I thought I needed to do and it worked for a little while.
Why I Love It:
It feels good. And it allows me to set goals that I have a reasonable amount of control over.
How I Stay Motivated:
I wish that I could! I'm hoping that this website will keep me motivated. Keeping a diary has always worked before. If I felt accountable to someone or something besides myself, I would work harder. And even though the diary had no idea what I was doing because it's just ink and paper, I psyched myself into believing that it cared and I had to be able to put something in it that I was proud of. That's my goal for joing this sight. Accountability.
Last but not least, whenever I start really slipping I can always find inspiration from my loving boyfriend. He is always available to lovingly call me a cow if I look too hard at a cheesecake, or even move in the direction of the icecream case at the grocery. I love him and I can't wait to get back in the gym with him.
BB Accomplishments:
Ha ha! I used to have a really nice back. My shoulders and upper back was so beautiful that I made sure that my some of my Glamour Shots photos showed them off. I would like to be there again.

Not happy anymore with this body. 140lbs.
Finally have some progress worth displaying, again. I've always been fond of the way my back responds to exercise. Too bad my triceps don't follow suit.
Had to celebrate today on the way home from the gym. Well, celebrating to me might be different than what it is to you. This is something that I would have done even if I didn't feel like I was the queen of the world for my accomplishment. What did I accomplish? I mastered the speed bag. Ok,...
hehehe, one of my favorite jokes ever. And, regarding your comment, almost all triathletes suck at swimming, I certainly do. You just start out small (distances)
For anyone who is reading these comments and does not know the answer to this riddle, he's refering to the four members of Def Leppard. The drummer only has one arm!
