Pleasant Grove High Attended 1998 to 2000 Pleasant Grove, Utah United States
When I Started:
Aug, 1994
How I Started:
I saw a picture of Cory Everson in a magazine when I was 13, and have wanted to be muscular. As soon as I was old enough I took a weight training class in High School, and realized I had a talent for lifting really heavy weights for my size. I have been lifting ever since!
Why I Love It:
I love working out because it helps me overcome any challenge I face in life. It is also a HUGE stress reliever so that I am not a bitchy mom. :)
How I Stay Motivated:
I want to set a good example to my 2 beautiful girls. And I don't want a big ass! :)
BB Accomplishments:
I lost 60 pounds (TWICE) after having two beautiful girls. I stayed in shape during both pregnancies doing Yoga, Bellydancing, and light weight training. While the training helped me have energy, what I ate made my kids beautiful, healthy and smart!
What are your secrets for making healthy food taste great?
Most healthy food doesn't really taste that great, but I am addicted to the way healthy food makes me feel and look. One trick I do for eating more veggies and fruits is to make a "whole juice" using an awesome blender that I have. I mix spinach, kale, cucumber, celery, lemon juice, and apple and the blender grinds up the pulp and everything! You just have to get the right kind of blender. Then I take shots of that juice through-out the day. Before I know it I have gotten tons of veggies, and my energy is through the roof! Most healthy food doesn't really taste that great, but I am addicted to the way healthy food makes me feel and look. Do you tell your friends and/or family about your fitness goals?
No
Why or why not?
In my experience it is better to avoid the sabatogers by not calling attention to yourself. Besides, talk is cheap. People learn better by example.

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
Make fitness a lifestyle change instead of a quick-fix.
