HOW I STARTED:

I have always been involved in sports and just let myself go as I got older. Got sick and tired of being sick and tired. I want to look good nekkid. I wanted my wife to drool over me again. I want to look like I just got released from prison to those just released from prison. I want to be a healthy role model to my family and fellow cops. I eventually realized I was getting too intouched with my inner fat boy and had to stop.

WHY I LOVE IT:

It makes me feel good inside and out. I love the way I look in my clothing. It helps on the job. It's a good stress reliever in a highly stressful occupation. My 3 yr old son mimics me so I want him to mimic a healthy lifestyle. Plus I gotta do something to distract from this ugly face of mine.

My Motivation Program

I just look at myself in the mirror. I look at others on this site that have changed their bodies. I've found a "new " way to stay motivated is to look at my old fat pics. I get fired up when I see them. I think about all the crooks who do nothing but workout in prison that would love to take me on. I look at other fellow cops with the "cop build" (ya know big ole bellies, droppy posture)and I tell myself that is not going to be me. As of March 10, 2007 I made a promise to my first born that I would stay fit and teach him to stay fit.

Motivation

As I sit here listening to Kelly Rowland's "Motivation" I got to thinking about my workouts and diet over the past few months.  How I have not been consistent despite my desire and better judgement. I couldn't figure out why I think about working out and for the most part watching what I put in my mouth but could only string together a few weeks of consistency.  Then it hit me...Kelly Rowland knows. P90X Initial Impression

Yesterday I did my first P90X workout. It was back and chest day. I pretty much completed the whole thing except for the last two supersets and the cool down cuz I was pressed for time and had to pick up my son from school. Overall it's a good workout and the pace is pretty fast. I was sweating pretty good despite windows and doors being opened where I was working out at. This morning I am suprised at how sore my upper back and lats are. It's a deep soreness too. I don't know how much of this is from not working out much in the past 4 months or from the P90X and all those damn pull ups. I...

My last blog entry was May 26, 2011. Shortly after writing that blog was the last time I worked out. 4 whole months since I got a workout in! Pathetic! It all started with some medical setbacks (non-gym injuries) back to back that kept me out of the gym. It took me about 4 or 5 weeks to fully recover from the injuries and get to a position to continue to workout again. However by that time laziness had set in and it just felt too good to go straight home after my shift and bypass the gym. I am mad at myself cuz I was starting to see some very good results from my hard work and dedication. N

timmylpratt maybe you can work around it. i had a slipped disk that did not require surgery and i was able to work around it. changed my lifting style from heavy to more volume, an excuse to make a chang to a program i followed for too long that went stagnant. lol May 6, 2012 10:41am
