After having 2 kids pretty close together (youngest born April 2007) it was finally time to get some kind of body back! My last pregnancy was particularly difficult and my son was born 2 months prematurely. After almost not making it through the birth myself, I was determined not to just 'be there' for my family but to be there for them for a long time in the best of health! I started Body For Life on 4th February 08 and in 12 weeks lost 34lbs of baby weight. Needless to say, I'm so glad I did. Now, just try and stop me!
Why I Love It:
If you work out, then you already know. If you don't, then nothing I say is going to make you want to!
How I Stay Motivated:
Negative: Looking in the eyes of those who laughed in my face when I said I'd be at the gym at 05:00 every day. I've become that goal, they are still the old them, but now I own their smugness.
Positive: My husband, and also purely selfish reasons - its my 'me' time! And I'd feel guilty if I spent it on my butt reading!
I firmly believe that:
1) If you take life too seriously, it will treat you seriously.
2) The mind and body working together make a whole person. Focussing on just one will prevent you from reaching your potential for anything, so: 'Working out without engaging your mind is like having a party without the guest of honour'
3) The unfortunate only dream when their eyes are closed, so dare to dream when you're awake! Self-limiting will not help you achieve anything great.
4) NEVER be afraid of making mistakes. They are more powerful than the greatest success in defining who you become tomorrow.
5) You can learn at least as much from a closed-minded self-interested person as you can from the most giving and open one.
6) If it isn't killing you then it isn't changing you. YOU get to decide if that's a good thing or not.
7) Wobbles are sometimes just what you need - they remind you where to find the balance!
8) It's important to keep trying (especially with people) but just as important to know when to walk away
9)No-one owes you anything. You don't owe anyone anything. But you can CHOOSE to give (see 8 above). Some broken people believe life OWES them. Unless your given name is Life or you were the cause of that belief step away gently. If not handled with care that negativity will be a black hole for your positivity. These unfortunate people need someone/anyone to blame for their situation, help them if you can but don't become that person for them. Harsh. But true.
10)You can't bring everything to you, but if you want it you sure as anything can chase it down!

I have been so busy! I'm working two jobs right now (70 hours per week), start my student teaching in January, and workout 5-7 days per week, while raising a family! Gotta love it!
My workouts keep me focused on my consistency in life and they allow me to stay focused!
How have you been?
I started asking a lot of questions about nutrition and exercise routines and some very nice people have helped me out! I have a long way to go but I am happy from where started. A couple of my friends have set me up for success and all I have to do is follow their instructions. It's good to hear from you because you really motivated me when I was getting ready for my 5K.
I had two crazy weeks but I'm back in the game now! I love this site because people always motivate you even when you might fall off for a minute. How are you doing?
I have not talked to you for a long time! I fell off but I am ready to jump back into training! I'm doing a hard 12 week program that is going to kick my ass. You gave me a lot of motivation in the past so stay in touch!
Hi bitbit, i need your help, I started the BFL programe on 18th May 2009, i am loving it, i stick to the rules religiously, i do my weight training/CV training when i first wake up on a morning, i have my six small meals a day, and i drink countless amounts of water, HOWEVER, i am not losing any weight, i was 213lbs when i started BFL, i am now 215lbs, and it is really frustrating, can you please help.
Will
Yeah! Gotta love the Boobs and Ass! ;)Haha! I know how you feel, my waist has picked up that I've even had to buy new clothes! :( But I'm trying to keep focused on the end goal. How much have you gained so far? I'm sure the yellow bikini will still be fine! :) As for my bulk - I'm lucky im in South Africa - so we actually in our winter now. My cut will start oct - in time for our summer (Dec). I'm not planning to compete though. What routine are you on at the moment?
Hey girl! Sounds like you also punishing yourself! I'm bulking until Oct - so far I am 8kgs up - but the waist is crying! Haha! I've decided to stick through it - cos I dont really have a problem leaning up!
Whats news otherwise? When are your comps?
Hey girl!
I've been hiding away for a while - just thought I'd drop in to see how you're training's going? Are you still bulking? When's your show? (Or did i miss it?) Hope you well! ;)
