My every summer home from college was spent working at a commercial bakery plant. Someone in the Quality Assurance lab got a crush on me and would deliver hot fresh baked goods to my desk. Something had to be done, so I joined Gold's Gym on their "home for college $99 deal" they had at the time. I didn't get along with my parents so after work, I'd spend more time at the gym than at home. After graduation and weird dietary experiments, stressful situations etc. I'm in need of some work, but I'm back with a plan and a lot of motivation.
Why I Love It:
I like being stronger, fitting into clothes well (though my shoulders and hips seem to not work well with most off the rack women's wear these days... grrrrr), its fun to accomplish small lifting goals and to see a positive progression
How I Stay Motivated:
Feeling better physically and feeling better about myself are the biggest motivators. I like to go out to the club and look good too. And if I can dance all night all the better!
Ok... part of the big booty is actually a shadow if you look at the photo closely. Oh wait, DON'T look too closely!!! I'm totally a work in progress here - it took a lot of nerve for me to put this in a public space!!! I'm at 130lbs here.
I can't believe how long it has been since I posted one of these pictures, gotta admit, I'm kinda embarrassed with the 2007 one....
Anyway, I'd like to give a big shout out to chin ups, kettlebells, and whey protein for all their help! :)
Gain muscle mass, functional strength, be at my physical best, motivate myself and others!
Goal (Long):
I don't really care what I weigh, but body composition is most important to me along with how my clothes look. Most local people think I looked just fine before working out and eating right, but I wasn't satisfied because I knew that I was capable of looking better and being stronger. I feel like I look my best at 16% bodyfat or below. When I moved down to Orlando, I got lazy and began to eat badly - its time to undo the damage and get back to where I am proud of how I look again. Now... let's get that booty fixed, shall we?
A good friend of mine has a goal of participating in the women's caber toss at the highland games, I need to find a fun goal like that too!

First off, its funny, but working out at this particular gym has resulted in workouts that are noticeably LESS INTENSE than what I do at home. Though tonight should be the big pay off - I'm going to hold off on other exercises (other than a warm up) before doing the bench press - and...
I'm currently all about the kettlebells! I'm not sure why they are so fun, but they are. I've worked out with traditional free weights and machines since 1996, but I like the fact that I can throw my whole "gym" in the trunk of my car and take it anywhere. My friends see them when they come...
