When I Started:
May, 2008
How I Started:
I've been a full time athlete since the age of 6. I was one of those guys that went from sport to sport, year after year. I started lifting in high school but lost motivation in college when I wasn't playing competitive sports on a consistent basis. Since then, I've gone in and out of lifting phases depending on what time of the year it was and how much weight I gained. In May 2008 I weighed 226lbs, the most for me ever. I'm down to 205 and by May 2009 I'm hoping to get down to 195. At 32, I'm looking to transform myself to see what I can accomplish but to also be in peak physical condition and hopefully enjoying a much healthier lifestyle.
Why I Love It:
Once working out becomes part of your everyday routine, the results start to come, and people start to notice, the results of my efforts and the way I feel about my appearance are just so satisfying. The endorphins kick in and I'm able to release the stresses of every day life.
At 32 years old I'm at the point where having a well constructed body and living a healthy lifestyle is extremely important for a variety of reasons. I want to challenge myself to transform my body to see what the possibilities are. I'd like to trim down to 195 lbs, being lean, creating defined muscles, and dropping my body fat down to 10%. I'd like to achieve my goals by May 8 of 2009.
Other than the obvious benefits (appearance, health, etc.), how has bodybuilding and fitness improved your overall life?
Other than giving me a new goal to reach for, I just feel so much healthier and motivated in all areas of life. Being healthy, stress free and motivated will help me focus on accomplishing goals in my professional life. Do you have a significant other?
Yes
How has bodybuilding and fitness helped or hurt your relationship?
It's amazing...the economic climate. I think about how stressed out everyone is, people out of work and not able to find something new. I consider myself lucky to have a job right now, a good job that is actually going very well. After 6 years, I still put an amazing amount of pressure on myself...
At 226 lbs, I did full body workouts three days a week and hit a plateau. Figured I needed to add more concentration and really hit each muscle group. At 210 lbs, here is where I'm at:
Day 1: Chest/Tri's (w/Cardio)
Day 2: Back/ Bi's
Day 3: Legs/Shoulders(w/Cardio)
Day 4: OFF
Day...
when I cut, I typically do change my workouts, but not that much. I try to do more reps, but the key for me is LOTS of cardio, which I don't do otherwise.
Training is on the up week on week (must be the supplements talking!). All good with me and gone past all the junk food and sugar craving thing.. seriousily who would have thought this could happen.
hey thanks for the add! right now for cutting im doing cardio 4 days per week for 30-45 mins at 6:00 am before my classes start, and i've also been dieting for 4 weeks, where i've been taking in high protein, low carbs, and moderate fats. plus with the help of the ******** D4 everything is coming along nicely. hows your training going?
NICE-YOU CAN REALLY START TO SEE YOUR OBLIQUES KEEP IT UP-GREAT WORK, THINGS HERE ARE GREAT, JUST GOT A NEW WORKOUT FROM STEVEP AND IT LOOKS LIKE A REAL KILLER
