When I Started:
May, 2006
How I Started:
My favorite teacher at school is a former bodybuilder from california. He's inspired me to start lifting, and I'm even majoring in exercise science next year at college because of him. I'm just getting started, and the past two summers I've lifted and really enjoyed it, and I definitely want to continue.
Why I Love It:
It feels great to lift more weight than you did the session before, and it feels fantastic to look in the mirror and like what you see.
How I Stay Motivated:
I want to like the way I look, I want to be confident, I want to be strong. I also just finished my senior season of high school wrestling, and although I was never a league champ (2x runner-up) I have a dream of wrestling in college and I know that my athleticism is lacking so I've got to work for it, and being as strong as possible will go a long way towards getting me there.

To gain 10 pounds of solid muscle while getting down to 8% Bodyfat, getting stronger and faster in order to make the wrestling team at college next year
Goal (Long):
My goal is overall fitness-strength, power, some work on quickness/speed/agility, fantasic cardiovascular fitness and endurance, AND a great body. Basically I want to bodybuild while simultaneously working for overall fitness. Obviously this means I am going to have to include more strength-based routines like 5x5's, but I'm guessing throwing those in every 5-6 weeks between bodybuilding routine weeks will be OK.
What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
Brat Pitt because he isn't huge but he has a great physique (which I think is more important than size) and great abs.

Which pro bodybuilder/fitness/figure competitor has the ideal physique? Why?
Frank Zane and Vince Gironda both had fantastic physiques because they both went for the physique and the shape and the proportions rather than size, and so even though sometimes you would look at them next to a bigger bodybuilding and be dissapointed, if you look at individual pictures of them, it's hard to beat the physiques they had. they went for true aesthetics, and that counts for alot. Especially when your trying to look good, not look like a meathead.Frank Zane and Vince Gironda both had fantastic physiques because they both went for the physique and the shape and the proportions rather than size, and so even though sometimes you would look at the...more
so its been a few months. I got bored with the blog, and though I continued my workout program through the end of the summer, things tailed off slightly and I got very busy with work and social life. I'm at college now, and I'm focused and ready to go. I actually thought to get back on here...
Its been awhile how are u? I just put up progress pics (more up on 10/10) a new thread post and blog entry. my posture is way off because my legs are still weak and in the middle of rehab that will come in time . let me know what about my physique is coming along and what still needs work … etc This is 1 month in with getting most of my lifts and diet in hope to hear from you soon you can PM me or gmail me at doobzkhq@gmail if that is easier
Hey buddy . I accidentally deleted all my profile comments ? could you send me the link to your wrestling regime for your school . whatever it was you sent before? any progress on getting pics up? BTW I lost 5 lbs on my CPTs new plan 2x's a week HIT cardio and 3x's a week moderate to heavy weights all body routine .... how are you doing?
Frank Zane has always been one of my idols, too! I got to meet him at the Arnold Expo a few years ago thru a mutual friend. It was awesome. Good luck with your goal, you look good! -Ray
realized that I don’t have much on my IPOD in the way of good workout music. I am up for any music that puts you in that zone where all that matters is the next rep, set, mile, or pound. I am looking for good beats etc and I am open to just about any style . Any recommendations?
It's good to see a young guy who knows the name Frank Zane, let alone admires his classic, lean physique. He certainly represents an ideal that you really don't see anymore - at least in competitive bodybuilding. I personally can't get his kind of body (too "blocky") but it looks like you are on the right path to develop yours along those lines. Good luck in reaching your goals!
I appreciate your feedback. I did some squats this week, but my back was really hurting after 3 sets of 135 at 15 reps. I've gotta get this down. I don't know what I've changed. I'm going to track someone down who can help in person. Thanks
Yea, I did squats Friday. Did my 20@225 after I did a short set of 6 at 315. I'm even wearing a belt. So, yea, for me, it's still a work in progress. I do not see how these guys can squat 400+ pounds..
this dude doesnt squat that much Jamerjay on here only does 220kgs and he is 1000000x his size its impossible for such a small guy to do that. its stupid when people lie but hey thats life.
So, when you squat (over 315) does your back ever hurt? I saw your stats on your squat and thought that maybe you could give me some insights on squatting.
Thanks,
