I have always worked out over the years on and off but never took it seriously. 7 months ago I quit smoking and took up running so I wouldn’t gain weight. After running my a$$ off I started to realize the benefits of weight training far outweigh the benefits of running. I started taking it seriously and began learning more about it June 2009.
Also, I had a daughter in 2004 and gained around 70lbs & completely ruined my body (Mostly my stomach). My daughter is 5 now, and my body still isn’t where it should be. Having a child should not be an excuse for being out of shape! I would like for my body to look better then it did before I had my daughter.
Why I Love It:
I like the fact that it can only improve who I am on the outside and inside. I love seeing results and knowing that there is more to come. I like the dedication, discipline and control it takes to lift. It is one of the few things that is reliable in my life.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing the drastic changes other people have made to their bodies! Looking in the mirror and seeing the small changes. More than anything I believe in myself. I recognize that this is a lifestyle change and I will never be the same again!!

Yeah it doesn't look like fun. That's just reason number 2 why I like being a guy. That and I smell like meat and gasoline all the time. A very intoxicating mix.
