When I Started:
Jan, 2008
How I Started:
Medical problems caused me to gain a lot of weight really fast. After 10 years of fighting to get it off, I came to the realization that cardio is not the answer. If I'm going to lose the weight, I need to start slabbing on the muscle.
Why I Love It:
When you're fat, people look at you and assume you're lazy and/or weak. My lifting time is like my little secret. It's also a reminder of what I was before the medical issues. I am still an athlete, I'm just temporarily stuck in a fat chick's body!
How I Stay Motivated:
I have a picture on my desktop.. Hugh Jackman, in a tank top, from X Men. Obviously won't ever get THAT far, but it's nice to look at! Also, I have a table of dates, projected weights, and "rewards". It's been helping so far!
BB Accomplishments:
At 13-15, I could leg press 500lbs (and a little). I was proud of that. I ONLY ever worked lower body though, so when I recently started training upper.. I was pretty proud when my biceps started showing!

BRING ON THE BULK!!!!
I *AM* the Juggernaut, biatches!!!
I have finally figured out what all needs to be done in order for me to lose weight. Years of research, trying different paths, ineffective medication, and hundreds of fruitless hours of hard cardio..
Now I'm on the right meds (thyroid), I have the right diet for me (paleo), and I've given up on cardio as the answer. My decision to just "slab on the muscle" in combination with meds and diet is the final piece in the puzzle!
SO. I want to be down to the weight I was when I was 16 by September. I want HUGE arms. I want people to look at me and see the person I am inside, not the weird foreign shell I've been stuck in for the last decade! I am aiming for 160 lbs.

What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
Ok,I know it's dub and would never happen, but lately I've really been admiring Hugh Jackson's body in the X Men movies.
I can't really think of a female celebrity's body I'd want to have.. they're all skinny. I want MUSCLE!!Ok,I know it's dub and would never happen, but lately I've really been admiring Hugh Jackson's body in the X Men movies.

What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
As a kid, I was REALLY good at lower body - leg press in particular.
So that's ALL I did. Never, ever trained upper body.

What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
I don't really think about it.. whatever floats your boat, I guess. I'm more focussed on what I'm doing.. not grunting!
So hubby and I took the last week off (planned), and the last 3 days of the week before off (both injured). Today was the first day of officially combining the days that we were doing, to double the week workouts from the first 9 weeks.
This morning was basically Monday, Tuesday, and...
Hey girl, great job so far... have you checked out body for life? When I first lost weight and was training I lost 25 lbs! the web page is bodyforlife.com if you wanna check it out!
That's awesome! You can so it girl...just stay consistant (that is the most important thing!). It also helps if you break your goal down into mini goals..like I want to lose 10lbs by next month. Great progress so far! Keep it up :)
