I haven't worn shorts in over 30 years, and I want to be my best this year. Back in 1984 I was bulimic and worked out every single day. I had a muscular physique but at a dangerous price. I couldn't stop my bulimia. Getting pregnant with my first child actually saved my life and I vowed to never do that again. I worried about my weight, but I worked out instead, with no strick diets. Through out the years I let myself go. I am done with that. I want to regain my strenght, be happy, healthy and build myself from the inside out.
Why I Love It:
I want to be my best and be happy with the results. Being healthy and beautiful and hope that one day I can wear a bikini.
How I Stay Motivated:
By noticing the results on everyone else. I have to stay determined that one day I will be able to post my bodybuilding pics!
I want to have a firm body and keep my wieght at about 115, I don't want to loose my curves. I enjoy my butt and small frame.
Goal (Long):
Loose about 30 lbs and start seeing muscle firmness on my body. I workout as much as possible but want to be more determined to workout at least 5 times per week. I am doing this for me and no one else. (Smile)
Today (04/15/07) I did a 30 min workout with Power 90 cardio 3-4. Got to start somewhere! Through out the day I continue to workout and squeeze in the stomach. Tomorrow, I will rest and continue for the next 5 days to workout using the Power 90 sculpt 3-4. I need to feel the muscle!
Hey Doris, Great! You're gonna love it. it simpifies the whole plan
and makes it pretty easy to follow. The wallet thing sounds like something I would end up doing.. ;] lol.
Take care...let me know what you think of the book.__Rich
Absolutely Doris,
Of course we can go over the recipes and compare notes and such ;]
You got the right foods already. If possible, for antioxidants and carbs with low low calories, you can add some dark vegetables like broccoli..etc. to 1 or more meals.
I personally have a hard time getting any veggies down, but I know they help strenghten your immune system.
So....it's good...to answer your question. You don't "HAVE TO" have veggies, but they WILL help.
I apologize...;] My name is Rich, pleasure to meet you.
It's got recipes, but it's not just a cookbook.
I think there is only ONE but it says : "Over 30 recipes inside". We can only get better from here on.
Heres the link to the page with the book:(I know, it's a long one...lol...just copy and paste)

___is this the one you were looking at?
Hey Engle, I'm doing good. Yeah, this place is great for advice and motivation. If you want any help/advice from me, feel free to let me know. The last pics I took were about a week ago. I'll get something new up in the next couple of days. Hope you are having a great night! JD
Yes that's a good idea, as with everything start small, work your way up. Keep track of the exercises, amount of weight used, and reps. Try and get better every week.:)
I do decline crunches on an adj. bench with 35 Lbs. of plates held on my chest. That and knee raises in a captain's chair. Once a week, total of 4 sets usually. Today I managed 41 crunches with 35Lbs. I hope you have a strong core before trying that. Hyperextended backs aren't much fun.:)
It HAS worked for me in the past, I will post some pics of me a few years ago......AND as I progress.
I work out 4 days a week....resting when my body tells me.
(usually after 2-3 days of training...then 1 day rest)
I'm now doing 30-45 minutes of cardio (treadmill) every other day, "High Intensity Interval Training" (HIIT)
style. Which means I walk until i'm warmed up, then jog
until I feel out of breath, then back to walking fast...
Repeat a few times....and....done.
The way I had mentioned to you is quite healthy indeed.
It is the "Basics" of all athletic diets.
1.Protein source with EVERY MEAL.
2.Eating 5-6 small meals balanced throughout the day.
(To trick your body)
3.Train progressively.
(Continue to train)
4.This type of eating is NOT a diet, it's a healthy
lifestyle change.
Hey There D! You've made good progress and will be at your goal weight in no time. BUT, good luck on the curves' retention. Sometimes we gotta' make sacrifices. I've learned I can't "have my cake and eat it too." {lol} Take Care! [www.DawnMelanie.com]
I just bought a book from amazon.com
called "THE-EAT-CLEAN DIET" By:
Tosca Reno, it's not too expensive and has a lot of great info in it including over 30 recipes. I'm enjoying it so far
although I ate crappy this weekend. haha.
-Rich-
THAT is a great question. It's what I'm striving to do at the moment. All it really means is to fuel your body with
lean proteins and complex carbohydrates.
Basically.... eat what helps muscle, not what helps fat. So like..chicken,egg whites, rice, oatmeal,
protein shakes and such.
Easier said than done. ;]
The idea is to speed up your metabolism
to burn more fat and "trick" your body into thinking it will be fed again in afew hours so it doesn't store fat for survival.
Thanks for the support. We need ALL the help we can get.
;] Yup, gotta keep that DEDICATION,DETERMINATION,and
DISCIPLINE. That's the hardest part. I'm pretty embarrassed about my pics that are up...but people here are soo helpfull
and encouraging, it's hard not to "join in". I hope you are
making great progress and wish the best for you in the future. -EAT CLEAN- 8^)
