Overall Goal: Completely burn off and say "bye, bye" to a few pounds of body-fat! "Goo be gone!"
Preserve and further define underlying musclature - yes, they are small guns and stalks but they are hard and strong! I'm a stroooong chicken!
Fit Status:
Enjoyed being lean and now upping calorie intake (carefully!) to add more muscle before leaning out again.

When I Started:
Jun, 2005
How I Started:
I did dabble in weight lifting and fitness for the first time while I was still in high school. But back then, I didn't really know what I was doing, I just knew that I liked it. Then again around 2003, I worked out with my roomate who was a lifeguard at a community recreation centre. From there, I joined the YMCA/YWCA and started focussing more on lifting. In 2004, I took my Fitness Theory through the Y and haven't yet pursued completing the practicum side of if neccesary in obtaining accredition as a personal trainer. I did use the knowledge aquired to further catapult my interest in fitness and nutrition.
In 2005, I really started taking weight training more seriously, training specifically towards reaching goals for myself. Shortly after joining a new gym in 2005, I met my fiance! We have both since changed to a new gym, as of 2008, and fitness and clean eating are very much a big part of our everyday lifestyle together.
However, it wasn't until recently (the last few months) that I began a new journey of taking things to a new, optimal level, setting new goals and iron-clad determined to reach or even exceed them! This is the first time that I have really applied myself to diet and clean eating - more so than ever before and I can finally say that I now understand and beleive it when I hear that "diet is responsible for 70% of results." And "Great abs are made in the kitchen."
Almost always a healthy eater, I never really concerned myself with calorie counting or macronutrient profiles. Now, armed with new information, I feel empowered to reach my goals and feel more in control of my outcomes! Wish me luck!
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel confident, at peace with myslef and okay with being in my "zone" for a while each day. I love seeing the results and feel as if I am an artist; my body the canvas or clay, that I am sculpting a work of art, a bit more each day, week, month and year. It also makes me feel happier, healthier and more at optimistic about all things, including aging!
How I Stay Motivated:
I have a vision board that sits propped upright on my breakfast bar. I look at it everyday and it serves as an aid in visualizing my goals, my strongly desired outcomes, as if I have already made it! This drives me when all else fails. Purchasing a new fitness outfit or new song on my Ipod doesn't hurt either!
BB Accomplishments:
I can see some muscle striation! I can see my iliac crest muscles! I can see a nice capping of my shoulders. My major bodybuilding accomplishments thus far include, hiring a great trainer (who has since moved to Ontario) and remembering to "change things up" regularily to avoid stagnation. I would love to do a figure competition one day. For now, I just like looking fabulous naked - even if I am the only one judging!

This was my physique, just over 2 years ago when I was about 130 lbs and 21% body fat or more... I was lifting about 5 days a week and doing spin classes! No diet except eating "healthy". Chubby Duck I was... Hair color was pretty bad too...
While not at my best, I also just ate a huge cheat meal last night, this can give you an idea of how much chub I have lost so far, fromt the area I am finding hardest to lose chub from. Still lifting, changing it up more now and dieting. Could use more help though.

Having the strength and fortitude to change destructive habits and mindset and creating a whole new paradigm shift for herself, manifesting itself in the gorgeous physique she has built.
A) Just look at her ( that alone is reason enough!)
B) Her willingness to help and advice others on their journey (this makes her a fabulous trainer, no doubt)
C) Great, strong, no BS attitute!
Thanks Kimm!

I have been using the same Tanita Body Composition Analyzer (the big one located at my local pharmacy) for about 3 years now. It apparently works by sending and electro-current through the body, entering the body through by way of the bare feet being in contact with two metal pads (looks like...
