I got started at age 29 after my dad died a few years earlier. He had an old wight set and i needed to lose some weight. Lost 75lbs. that year and have been off and on for years.
Why I Love It:
It works and it make you feel great.
How I Stay Motivated:
Spiritual focus -- lifting is very meditative for me. That's why I lift at home and alone. Otherwise it is a great way to work off anger.
BB Accomplishments:
None to date.

1 Timothy 4:8 -- 'for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.'
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 -- 'Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

This was taken when I had finished five weeks of training and diet. I looked worse before I started but this is still bad and it motivates me to get better.
16 weeks finished -- seeing some change but not much since week 12. I can almost see my uper abdominals. Lots of baggy skin still.
To develop a consistent program that reduces my bodyfat with solid muscle growth.
Goal (Long):
I have lifted and been involved with a bodybuilding style of lifting off and on now for over ten years. The one thing I lack is consistency. I want this to go from something I do now and then to part of my lifestyle. I want to eliminate as much fat as possible while puting on muscle. I am a big guy and I don't mind being big, I just don't like feeling run down or fat. I would like to be 285 lbs of solid muscle with a low bodyfat number (8 to 10%) if it is possible.
My 25th class renuion for High School is in a few years, I would like to look great for it.
It is getting easier to continue on as lifting becomes more a habit. That's a good thing and I am feeling more of the long term nature of this thing. Lifestyle is the key.
Chest, Legs and Forearms today. No Cardio. I have an idea for a split. Doubling up is working -- I can...
Good morning ED! I can see firming, and toning coming along. Make sure diet is clean, almost no junk food @ all will stonewall you're progress.do most of you're cardio with weights,it will add the muscle mass and tone U much faster. And keep doin it! The desire to want it done 2 day can discourage Us! But Remember Isiah 40:31! And Kill IT!
Hey thanks thats rlly sweet. I can still do leg and abs work, which I intended to do, but I just felt a bit cr*p yesterday and all my motivation suddenly dropped. But its okay, a challenge is an opportunity 2 grow. Hope u have a nice weekend :)
Gr8 BF, buddy. I fluctuate from 20-15%, gotta stay at it until I hit 12% and get my core where it needs to be. I have never had an abs pack, that's my goal right now, so I am continuing to hit the cardio. Keep at it. Peace, Rich
