Contest History
Organization: NPC
Contest: 2008 Junior California
Date: Jun 21, 2008
Location: California, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 210 lb (95.5 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: This was the second time I've done the Junior Cal. My goal before the show was to win the overall novice and finish first in the open heavyweight. I was able to accomplsh both. I dieted for 12 weeks. I kept my protein higher than usual(420 grams) and really didn't cut my carbs too much until the last few weeks before the show. These adjustments to my diet really seemed to help this time out. I really carb loaded the last few days before the show which seemed to really my dry me out little bit more. AS the show progressed I feel that I got better from round to round, and even better at the night show (After the 12 oz steak and two baked potato. I very pleased with my performance, but I feel I could be even better next show.

I would strongly recommend this show to anybody who is looking to compete. Lonnie Teper is ageat promoter and puts on an awesome show.

Date: Sep 23, 2006
Location: California, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 198 lb (90.0 kg)

Comments: I was able to add more size from the previous show, but I thought my conditioning could have been better. I looked better two days after the show.

Novice Heavyweight Winner

Open Light heavyweight runner-up
Organization: NPC
Contest: Junior California
Date: Jun 25, 2005
Location: California, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 187 lb (85.0 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: This was my first show. I was very pleased with my performance despite not knowing what I was doing. I overdieted and lost too much size while preparing. I think the reason I placed so well was the fact my that conditioning was spot on and I nailed my posing. The first show is alwyas the hardest to diet and prepare for . You don't know what to expect, and you don't know how your body is going to respond to the diet. For those looking to enter their first show ," Just have fun"! Just the fact your getting on stage makes you a winner no matter how you place.
