When I Started:
May, 2008
How I Started:
I had a partial hysterectomy in February 08, and also had a lump in one of my breasts. After putting it off for 2 years, I decided to have a mammogram. The results were the lump was fine, the opposite breast however had fibrous tissue, and I need to have a 6 month check-up. The doctor said that I could cut my chances in half of developing breast cancer if I lost at least 40 lbs. He said "You are technically obese!" That was it! I joined my local gym, cut out fat, pop, sugar, processed foods. I began doing cardio 4 days/week, bought an elliptical, and began weight training in May. 7 weeks ago, I hired a personal trainer, and we've been working on getting me lean. I would love to fitness model (for my age group). So, for now, that's my goal. To lose another 7-10lbs of body fat, and get mean, lean, muscle! I'm liking the results so far.
Why I Love It:
It gives me super energy. I feel 100% better about my life, and about myself.
How I Stay Motivated:
I go to the gym everyday, read Muscle & Fitness Hers, and call my trainer when I need motivation!

Thank you for your wonderful reply. I wish you nothing but success in all that you do. Remember: "Hard work is the price we must pay for success. I believe you can accomplish anything if you're willing to pay the price."
What a great role model and example you are. Going from where you were, and not that long ago, to where you are today shows tremendous determination and strength of spirit. I congratulate you on all your efforts. You are a fantastic inspiration to so many others. Stay strong, focused and determined and may God bless.
