I started reading Muscle and Fitness and Flex magazines when I was a teenager. I would work out whenever I could, but I really wasn't very dedicated. Now, I'm 100% committed to building a rock-hard body, with the two-prong goal of (a) losing fat and (b) gaining lean muscle mass
Why I Love It:
It is a great way to relieve stress. Plus, we are only born with one body, and we must do what we can to keep it healthy. Most importantly, having a well-built body is much more pleasing to the eye than being fat, out of shape and having "man boobs" (which I absolutely dred!!!).
How I Stay Motivated:
I subscribe to Muscle and Fitness magazine. My wife has been pointed out the physical improvements in my physique - most notably a decreased gut and increased muscle development. Plus, the thought of being out of shape and having "man boobs" scares the heck out of me, and that's plenty motivation! It also helps to hang around like-minded people.
BB Accomplishments:
Only as far as my physique is concerned, but here are some:
1. Noticeably more muscle mass;
2. More energy;
3. 205 lbs. bench press for 3 reps;
4. I can squat 300 lbs. for 6 reps;
5. I just FEEL BETTER OVERALL!
My goal is to lose body fat and gain lean muscle mass. In short, I want a rock-hard physique!
Goal (Long):
I was a very skinny kid throughout my childhood. Although age and a lower metabolism have helped me put on some pounds, I want 90% of those pounds to be pure lean muscle. I believe that muscular bodies (on men and women) are very pleasing to the eye, and I want to have kind of muscular and fit body that I can be proud of.
As far as specific bodyparts, I definitely want to have a small waist and six pack abs. Although overall muscular development is always a primary goal, I want my lower body development to be the envy of everyone who crosses my path.
In terms of cardiovascular health, I want to my heart to be healthy and my arteries plaque-free. In short, I want to be healthy and in shape well into old age a la the legendary Albert Beckles.
There are those who say "I'm need to get in shape," yet don't follow their words with actions. 31233 not only made the conscious decision to change mind, body and spirit, SHE ACTUALLY DID IT! She put her money where how mouth is, and the results speak for themselves.

Just got back into the gym last week after a month-long, and much-needed vacation in the U.S. Although I did some daily walking and a few Muay Thai classes (and one cross-fit class that kicked my anus), I didn't weight train. Once we got back to post, I felt like a new man. I've been back...
Hey there! Just wanted to say a quick thank you for nominating me as inspirational - and your kind words! That keeps me motivated! How are you going towards your muscle gaining goals?
Looking to be doing well so fare! Kick boxing workouts kick my butt when I can get to them,,I never want to admit that a small woman can work harder than I can so I drive myself into the ground! Great conditioning..when I peel myself of the floor!
Exacly!!! If more people understood the benefits of investing in their fitness, aside from competitive sports, people would be a lot happier and have better quality of life. I am happy for you....oh and your wife...lol Keep working, stay in touch and be blessed.
