Overall Goal: You will have some good days. You will have some bad days. But as long as you always try your hardest to accomplish whatever it is you're trying to accomplish, and never give up, then you will never have a wasted day.

Just snatched 24KG Kettlebell for the first time. Each hand! Awesome. With the psychological barrier broken, I know more are to come...

When I Started:
How I Started:
I was born with a hole in my heart. As a result, all my life I was (and had felt) thin and weak. When my 17th birthday came, I made the decision I was going to change. I began training in my room using bodyweight exercises. When I went to University a year later, I joined the Kung Fu club and have busted my ass ever since. I now hold a Black Belt grade in both Contact and Lau Gar Kung Fu, and am a qualified instructor. With will and time, I will become a living titan.
Why I Love It:
Strength is an absolutely vital human quality - it not only encourages health and confidence, but one day might also save your life or the life of someone you love. How can you justify not developing this quality when the stakes are so potentially high? It's in my blood, heavy and hard, give it all you've got - I can't be any other way.
How I Stay Motivated:
Stop whining. Just do it.
BB Accomplishments:
Forum Signature:
For one human being to love another: that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks, the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation.

Goal (Long):
I was born with a hole in my heart and, in January 2006 was diagnosed with Severe Ulcerative Colitis. My health has taken a beating, my body has been damn-near broken...but I don't give up. Ever.
I've finished hibernating, and I'm ready to kick ass and take names in 2009!
1: Live a healthy life, managing colitis. 2: Take my strength, speed, conditioning, flexibility and all-round physical capabilities to preternatural levels. 3: Do so while living a life of ethics, honour, creative power and titanic potential.
I am not a man, I am dynamite. It begins…now!

Do you have any type of chronic disease or condition?
Yes
What is it?
Severe Ulcerative Colitis
How does fitness help you with your condition? What do you have to do differently in your program since you have this condition?
Ulcerative Colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease - no (known medical) cure, just try and keep it in remission. I must watch my diet very carefully so as not to trigger a relapse. The condition makes weight difficult to maintain but easy to lost, which means that with my already furious metabolism I really struggle to keep/put on muscle, or weight of any kind. Still, adversity pushes us to higher heights...Ulcerative Colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease - no (known medical) cure, just try and keep it in remission. As of today, weight is 12.1 Stone / 169 Lbs. I've dropped a couple of pounds in the last week, despite eating 4000+ calories a day. That's the size of the task I face in gaining muscle/size. A verocious metabolism, active lifetstyle (lots of training, be it kung fu or otherwise) and...
Hey there, thanks for the first comment to my bodyspace! My UC has been in remission for a year and 3 months or so, but the last flare up was my bad. I used to weigh 115 pounds a year ago and my diet consisted of fast food (lots of soda too) and I started drinking a lot of alcohol (because I was feeling disease free!) but I managed to establish some new goals, live life healthy and fit.
Hey Panda - not much going on here - traveling as usual. Went to Louisiana a while back, New York will be next (2 trips for a total of 3 weeks), and then Japan.
Hope you are doing well!
Weight is the same. Body fat is the same. I did have a few cheat meals the past month so I understand the standstill. It still sucks though! How are you?? Didn't you go on holiday (isn't that what you call it?)?

Het Panda- just riding the excercise bike in the morning. Not very hogh intensity, but it's right hrer at home and doesn't wake up the family, so it's OK for now...!
Not sure what my new goals are yet, but probably similar to my old ones...! LOL My digital scale broke a while back, so I am getting the old-school dial scale (less accurate, but less likely to break) instead. after I get my current weight, I will make some new plans to get back to where I was. Of course, I am still traveling all the time, so I may have to rely more on cardio, because a lot of hotels don't have much in terms of weight-training equipment.
Your plan of getting ripped sounds good - like you said, may as well look as good as you can! While I struggle to lose weight, I souldn't want to trade places with you. You have my sympathy, but more importantly - you have my encouragement! You are always trying to think outside the box,a nd come up with new ways to work through your condition - kudos to you & keep up the good work!
Hey Panda - somehow I responded to your earlier email with a comment intended for a new friend - sorry about that!
Sounds like you are still having some struggles - sorry to hear about that!
