Great Leg Day! I did squats with 180lbs, 10x4 reps today and leg extensions with 230lbs, 10x4 reps. I started with 50lbs 3 months ago.

Last year I noticed a lot of crazy changes in my body. Severe acne flare ups, painful bloating, irregular periods, stomach cramps, crashing fatigue and the list goes on. For example, I noticed that after I ate ice cream, (something I always did with no problems) I would have violent stomach cramping. It felt like I had been poisoned. Just eating my regular foods became painful. (Regular meaning processed foods) I decided to do some research. Many women with a lot of my similar problems changed there diets to a vegan or vegetarian one and saw there problems disappear after some time, so that is what I decided to do. A couple of days before Thanksgiving, I decided to stock my fridge with organic fresh veggies and whole grain bread. I got rid of all the processed foods in my kitchen. I stopped eating anything refined or bleached. (white rice, white sugar, bleach flour) I replaced them with whole flour, raw unrefined sugar, brown rice, and I stopped buying foods with ingredients I could not pronounce.The first vegan meal I made was some delicious Thai Veggie "Chiken" lettuce Wraps. Yummy!!! A month after I changed my diet I lost 5 or 6 lbs, and that was before I started weight training. I decided to start lifting weights so I could see faster results and keep the weight off. I bought a Total Gym and signed up for a gym membership. This was the best decision I've ever made for myself. I have fallen in love with working out. I feel like I'm on top of the world, after I workout. What a great feeling!
Because the results are real and the feeling I get after a great workout is amazing. I'm health, I'm getting into shape, I feel awesome, what is there not to love??!!??!!

I follow her plan exept for no cardio the first month. I was still cycling 8 miles a day. After 2 years of cycling 5-6 times per week, I couldn't give it up.

Posted in Training : Apr 05, 2012 10:11pmAll things come to an end, but this is definitely the beginning! This is the best thing I have ever done for myself, in my entire life. As a mother of a soon to be college student and a soon to be kindergartner, it is hard to think about putting myself first and making time for myself. All these years, I thought working out was boring and that couldn't fit it into my schedule. I just didn't have a clue about what I was doing or what I could do. Back in January 2012, I got a clue and got to work. There is no turning back now.

Posted in Nutrition : Jan 24, 2012 7:32pmAre there any vegan lifters out there? I am finding it hard to get 100 grams of protien in a day. And its not because I'm vegan, I am just not that hungry, and I hate the taste of most meal replacements and protein shakes, they are awful.
I think I have about $80 worth of different shakes on the top of my fridge. Can someone recommend a decent tasting meal replacement or protein shake? I prefer something with no flavor that mixes well with strawberries and bananas. (No chocolate and no berry tasting shakes.)
Please help!
