How I Started:
Initially part of training for football in High School, then to maintain strength and speed for team sports. Didn't really start to focus on BB until around 38 yrs old.
Why I Love It:
At 48 it never ceases to amaze me that I can still shape my body to my will. The more thought and training I invest the better the returns. The human body is amazing!
How I Stay Motivated:
Set goals, set new goals, and then set another goal.
BB Accomplishments:
Still capable of hard training after two decades of poor lifting and training techniques.

Update 3/12: I hit 9.5%. Now shooting for 8% by April 15.
Update: 2/23 - I was using an Omron body fat device to measure my BF. I was way off. I dont know where I stared now but as measured by calipers I am at 9.5%. Not sureI want to go to much below this. Judging by the mirror I might go as low as 7.5% but that may be too low to sustain.
Origional Goal: I have fluctuated between 17 and 19% body fat since Christmas 2008. I want to get down to 12% before April
Well today was the moment of truth, do I really want to get to the next level or not? If anything will reveal that Leg Day will. I start by saying I was less then impressed with my focus and effort. I just cant seem to get the focus on the sets that I do when I train by myself. Maybe after...
sorry to hear about the legs. i know how it is having different things that hold you back. great news on the training partner. that's exactly what I'm looking for!
same problem here with the diet. :( I keep telling my friends I need someone to break my jaw to help me lose weight. :) they think hard about it but never take me up on the offer. LOL You've got FAR getter control on the diet than I do.
5-6 lbs of muscle? Man that's awesome. I'd kill for that. I'm working it hard. Still trying to get the elusive abs. Harder than I imagined it would be although I've dropped 42lbs. in the last six months. Still trying and then want to gain so I can compete next year. I train in the mornings at Golds. I work for myself so my schedule is flexible. Thanks for checking in man. Keep in touch.
Just checking in on you Doug. How was the training with the PT, were you happy with the program and results?? I see you are bulking, eat big, lift big and grow big my brother.
hey boyfriend, I need your help. go to my page and click on the link and vote for my daughter, Jamie Sonon. she did a body challenge. i see you are still trying to eat that oreo. LOL!!!!!!
Hey Doug, thanks for your comments on my blog, I always appreciate it. According to your fit status, it almost sounds like you are REALLY looking forward to the new challenge. WORK HARD!
I did send it from my kimv account. It is that my husband despises my work out regimen otherwise I would cry from pain. My upperleg, left on the outside hurts so much that I can hardly walk. The inside of my buttocks hurt, there seems to be a muscle there, my neck on the right hurts. All muscles I did not have before, or did I?
I know what you mean and am curious to see those new leg photos of you. Training is going well, I think. Terrible muscle pain, difficulty sleeping. I grew new muscles in strange places. Did you get my other email?
