When I Started:
Jun, 2007
How I Started:
This is a really cliche story but its true. All my life I was an athlete growing up but I never had desire to work out to make myself better. I graduated High School and moved on to College. I dated a girl for a long time and then we split up and I had a lot of stress and anxiety building up inside me. One day I decided to just run until I felt better, and it worked so then I began running every single day. My drive soon led me to the weight room where it has implanted itself as a part of my everyday life. I developed an extremely intense work ethic while in the gym and it became addicting to me.
Why I Love It:
I love working out because it helps create a better self image and its a great way to deal with all the stress in my life. Also it has become my favorite hobby.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by thinking about the drive I had when my old girlfriend broke up with me. Lame, but still true. It doesn't take much now for me to get to the gym I love the facility here, its newly renovated ($3.4 million) and extremely nice. Now all my friends tend to keep in touch with me to make sure I still hit the weights hard.
BB Accomplishments:
My biggest accomplishment was just getting a good body at first. I was never fat, but definitely had fat all over my stomach and back and arms. Now I've shredded all that off and Im getting bigger and stronger.
This pic I took after dropping 19 lbs in a summer right as I began lifting.
My most recent picture nearly two years after the first. Not a whole lot of change because I just recently got into getting bigger and stronger instead of only trying to get toned.
Why? What are the pros and cons of working out there?
The Pros out weigh the cons heavily. It's a multi-million dollar facility just renovated a few years ago on campus and its amazing. Brand new equipment with more machines and olypticals than you can even imagine. A huge free weight room with rubber weights so they dont rust over. It has 12 basketball courts, my first love, as well. All in all its the best place in Oklahoma by far.The Pros out weigh the cons heavily. How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
Typically 4 sets of 8, but currently more like 3-4 sets of 12 or 15 because Im trying to get more cut!
