I'm taking a year os so off from competing, which is common for other dudes, but I have been competing 2 to 7 times a year for ten straight years now. (I was still making gains, though -- which people wrongly think can't happen when you compete . . . ) Anyway, I want to do some other projects with my bodybuilding before coming back. Ican explain more later. Meanwhile, when was your last contest and when is your next?
No, I've not done the New Englands as yet. What did you think of this year ('07)? I was pretty disappointed in the overall quality; a shadow of what it has been in past years. I do get "bulkier" off season, but not crazy like a lot of guys (, rarely above 11% or so). I think a lot of "heavy bulk" strategies can waste an athlete's time, so I will hit 230-235, but that's pushing it. I usually put on 3 to 5 lean muscle lbs each year. I can tell more, but not enough space here....
