I started in high school, taking a weightlifting class. Taking it once, turned in to taking it 4 times. I loved it. I was a pencil when I first started, and the gains I had were what kept me going. Granted they weren't the biggest gains, but I needed to gain weight.
Why I Love It:
I feel like I'm accomplishing something each time I'm in the gym, taking myself in a better direction. The results make it all worth it.
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking at myself in the mirror, and knowing that I could be better. Seeing others in the gym, who are in the shape I'd like to be does it as well.
A 300 on the Marine PFT. In the beginning of November '07, I could only do 2 full dead hang pull ups. A little over a month later and I can crank out 10. I'm working to get at least 20 by summertime for OCS.
***********Update 3-1-08: Did my first PFT about a week ago, had 14 full pull ups. Should have switched to palms forward at that point but did not. Still workin to 20.
***********Update 3-15-08: Stress fractures. Time to rest on running.
Profile pic showing quite the powerful upper body with the solid traps and shoulders, thick pecs and strong arms. With those goals and abs one impressive physique on the way. Andre
